Parking for UM vs Bama game on sale tomorrow

Submitted by dothepose on

I just got an e-mail from the ticket office regarding purchasing parking passes for the Cowboy Classic. If everyone looks at the parking map, I think we should coordinate lots to take over. It stinks though that we do not know our seats yet, as the website indicates certain lots are recommended based on your seat locations.

Dear Cowboys Classic Ticket Holder,

We are thrilled that you will be joining Michigan Football on September 1, 2012 in Dallas at the Cowboys Classic.

As a ticket holder to this game, we wanted to make you aware of the opportunity to purchase a parking pass through Cowboys Stadium at 11:00 am EST on April 3, 2012.

  • You can purchase your standard vehicle parking pass by clicking here

Cowboys Stadium has a limited number of parking passes available for sale. Michigan Athletics does not have any additional parking passes for purchase.

Thank you for being an integral part of the tradition of Michigan Football. We look forward to seeing you in Dallas!

Go Blue!

Does anyone have experience with the parking or public transportation situation around Cowboy Stadium that can tell us whether this is something we need to do?  I hate shelling out to Ticketmaster and Jerry Jones if there is ample alternate parking available, but I don't want to end up parking miles away if this is the only option.

A bunch of us from Michigan went to the Lions/Cowboys game last year, and parked about a mile from the stadium for $20/car.  It was very easy to find (right along main road heading towards Cowboy Stadium) and we arrived about 2-3 hours before kickoff.   I think it was about $100 to park right by the stadium, and then went down by $10 literally every block further away.  The tailgating at the stadium parking itself looked pretty fun.  Could be worth the extra $$ if you make a day out of it.  I'd compare it to parking at Pioneer...

Since it's a night game I'm assuming everyone will be staying in Dallas... the traffic after the Lions 1PM game was pretty horrible.  I'm guessing it took most cars 2 hours to leave and get to the highway.

Also, if you going to the game, arrive EARLY.  Like ridiculously early.  We waited in the line for about 90 minutes to get into the stadium since they had it setup horribly (men/women go in different lines).  I'd say 10,000 people missed most of the 1st quarter because of it... We all plan on going in at least 2 hours before kickoff.

ive been to rangers ballpark many times and have been there on days when both the rangers and cowboys have been playing.  you do not need to get these passes.  the whole place is a parking lot between cowboys stadium lots  and the ballpark larts - there is literally nothing else there but the lots and the stadiums.  you should have absolutely no problem getting parking day of - especially since the Rangers will be in Cleveland that day.

With Rangers not in town, nothing to worry about. There is ample parking on and off of the property within a mile radius.

Its only $35!!!! I will gladly pay this fee to tailgate with the spaceship in my background. I'm going for lot 10, if thats not available, lot 11. I will be having the tailgate of my life, I can't wait for this game.
