That sucks. Wonder if he's in position to EE? Get on campus and finish rehab with the training staff and get working with the strength and conditioning staff. Though maybe rehab would be over by then.

Damn that sucks.  Will be interesting to see which schools back off and which don't.  ACL tears aren't nearly as damning as they used to be, but they're still significant.  I hope if he is coming here he's an EE and gets with our rehab staff ASAP.

Yeah my understanding is not only did he already racked up multiple ACLs on the same knee, but the staff also requested that he sit out his senior year to help rehab the knee further and he refused. So this is a different deal. On a different note, I had the privilege of watching him play last year at the IMG vs Paramus game and he really jumped out as an outstanding potential recruit. Get well soon young man.

Man that stinks for Drew.  As others have stated, hopefully he can EE and get in with the training staff--get some good hands on rehab.  I had a friend tear her ACL her senior year--tough recovery but things have really improved in that area over the past 10-15 years.

Attack the rehab with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind!

This sucks.

At least if you blow one in college you (hopefully) have a team of the best ortho and PT docs on staff (go blue!). In high school... eh, not so much probably.

Good luck and hopefully he gets top quality help.

Having torn my acl in the same knee twice now (2006 & 2015) I can say that the surgery and rehab has gotten a lot better in the past 10 years. I was back running within 4 months and now a year and a half later I'm full function with no lingering effects and I am by no means an elite athlete. All of that to say that he should have no issue getting back to play shape almost by spring practice if he EE and has the UofM staff to help with rehab. Good luck to him!

I don't see Harbaugh backing off on his recruitment at all.  Silver lining perhaps-might cause some of the top competition for his commitment back off a bit.

Inf fact, this is an incident that could allow us to separate ourselves from the other would be suitors. It is completely w/in the rules to allow him to visit and receive proper guidance on how best to overcome this setback. There was a time when this would signify the likelihood of your playing days being curtailed. That is no longer the case and those that get the best treatment often thrive after proper rehab. UM's medical staff could pay big dividends here.

I really hope Harbaugh sticks with the kid, even if he never develops. I was so impressed with the way Beilein stuck with Austin after the two plane crashes, even when it was clear he could never really compete for us. There is so much to be said for doing things the Honorable way -- the Michigan way.
