Panic! Horror! Not really. ESPN completely misleads on another Rodriguez topic
Headline: Rodriguez linked with banned booster
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4439517
Content: Not in any way that the headline would make you think. Apparently Rodriguez has been sued here in South Carolina because of a land deal gone bad. Unfortunately his partner in the deal was a Clemson booster who has run afoul of the NCAA. Does ESPN report it that way? No, of course not. Absurdity.
Sorry if this had been posted previously, but I didn't see it.

Yup, headline does not really match the content... Oh well. Hopefully this will slow down after game 1.
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:20 PM ^
And if you knew the headline was shit, why didn't you change it?
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:22 PM ^
He's talking about the ESPN headline.
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:27 PM ^
I don't think he was referring to his post, but to the ESPN article title. I could be wrong, though.
EDIT: RR's huge face (otherwise known as OSUckSteverMSUcks) beat me to it.

Sorry, my bad. That is not how I read it. But, maybe the reason I was confused is the OPs headline is not the best one I have ever seen either.

c'mon its not that big ... ok maybe it is.

No worries here. I actually gave you a +1 on another thread mainly because of your username. I have a good friend named Matt who is indeed a psycho.
Here's another just to show you some goodwill.
I just think since we're being attacked by the Newspaper That Must Not Be Named, ESPN, and... the world, we should support each other. [That sounded a little fruity. Sorry about that. I'm drinking some good beer tonight!]

I know this might be tough to understand, but:
(1) Where I said "headline:", that was followed by ESPN's headline.
(2) Where I said "content:", I described the article.
(3) My headline was making fun of ESPN.

haha that is hilarious
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:22 PM ^
...simply shocking.
I used to be fairly indifferent toward ESPN, but my hatred grows with each passing day. Basically, my hatred is growing for most big media outlets these days (not just because of this story). It's not about news as much as it's about money. Shameful, really.

The board is a clusterfuck this week so it isn't entirely your fault.

Yeah, sorry about that. I checked the first two pages and didn't see it. Typically that's a good enough check, but with the amount of threads of late I should have checked further back. Again, sorry.

The board being crazy this week is why an upgrade should be somewhere in Brian's plans.
Not that I'm telling him what to do, or anything.

Dave Birkett, who has been reasonable so far, ran this "story" yesterday at A2.com. It would have been really nice to come home from work one day this week without something negative about RR splashed all over their website.
I asked them why they remove posts for being OT and but this. I also asked what a Clemson booster has to do with UM or their football team.
I wish the public flogging of RR would stop.

..or is Ann Arbor the only place where the local papers go after the sports teams?
September 3rd, 2009 at 9:22 AM ^
I wouldnt say the paper but the fans in DC will heckle you if you're a skins fan. For some reason they love the Cowboys in Washington DC. When I lived there I never understood how that city could be split so 50/50...theyre not even close geographically.

The Seattle Times has been extremely critical of Washington. One need only read this series to see what quality investigative journalism looks like:
