Pallante back to DL from FB?

Submitted by Sopwith on

Figured this deserved a post instead of burying in the Henry Poggi thread. Brady Pallante is now listed back at his original position of DL after a seemingly successful position switch to FB. (roster here).

Unless this is a typo, color me very surprised. Michael Spath on Rivals ($LINK$):

Pallante is the bigger surprise as he seemed to find his niche as a blocking back for the Maize and Blue.

EDIT: removing previously posted insider quote because it's paywalled and respect the legwork involved in getting quotes from inside sources, but leaving the intro comment from Spath. Summary: surprised insider is surprised.

One would have to assume its because he's actually making an impact at DL. Even with Pipkins gone, its not likely we're desparate for bodies at DL, so if they are moving him there it has to be his best position.

On a side note. These forums frustrate the hell out of me. Created an account in 2012, lurked for several years before that.... I've got like 35 points. I get the whole point system, but fluck me right in the pushy it is frustrating being insignificant :)

When I read the post above my first through is that scene from "Full Metal Jacket" in the opening of the second half where Cowboy and Joker are being offered a prostitute.

(That's also the scene from which Sir Mix-a-Lot sampled "me so horny" for the song "Baby Got Back."  Some years back a friend was watching "Full Metal" for the first time and saw that scene.  "Oh, that's where that came from!")

The ARVN soldier who is pimping the girl during the break of the battle in Hue, says the word pussy with a heavy accent that makes it sound like "pushy" instead.  Maybe the poster was going for that?

Because that's likely his main position. It doesn't mean, however, that he still won't be used at FB in certain situations (similar to Hurst last season). I think he can have a role at FB, I would have worried about his athleticism a bit as a full-time FB though.

he could very well end up paying both positions. not one or the other. to be a good full back, you need to have a good sense on who to block, catch a pass in the back field, and be crazy enough to run as hard as you can straight into the heart of the DL. the blocking part is probably the most critical to learn.
