I'm feeling three for some reason.

bonus (multiplier) for the fact that I sat here staring at your avatar for the better part of 5 minutes.
February 20th, 2010 at 9:23 AM ^
my damn shoulder hurts like hell which is making me grumpy, and grumpy for me means a pessimistic attitude. However, I just can't see 35 kids coming to the BIG HOUSE and not getting at least 2 commits. So over, definitely over !!
February 20th, 2010 at 9:25 AM ^
I'm going with the under. I would have set the line at 1/2 as I don't think Zettel or Beyer are ready to commit yet though I believe both eventually will. With the quality of kid that is going to be there I suspect some of them are going to want to take a couple of paid visits.
Then again, a verbal from someone unexpected may open the flood gates and we could get two or three. I would be really pleased if a certain sophomore LB gave us a verbal.
February 20th, 2010 at 9:32 AM ^
I think we will get 1 or 2. But who?
I think Zettel might, and I think we have a chance at Hayes. I have a feeling he will be very impressed even though he grew up a spartan fan.
February 20th, 2010 at 10:55 AM ^
If there's any justice in this world, we'll get Hayes this weekend.
Okay, sorry. But seriously, is he even visiting this weekend? He wasn't on Rivals list of visitors.
February 20th, 2010 at 11:01 AM ^
Tomvh put on twitter last night that he was.
February 20th, 2010 at 9:50 AM ^
I'm hoping that Brennen Beyer and Anthony Zettel join the fray this weekend.
Justice Hayes would be a nice get, too, but I don't see him dropping this soon, especially being a lifelong Spartan fan.
February 20th, 2010 at 9:56 AM ^
I wonder if the coaches are waiting to see what's up with Dee Hart before they go really hard after Hayes... Oh to be a fly on the wall of the recruiting war room
February 20th, 2010 at 9:54 AM ^
I'll be lame. I think we get zero or one.

God i love that show. I randomly ran into Eugene, the landlord, last year and asked if the show was coming back? At the time, even he didn't know unfortunately.
February 20th, 2010 at 4:52 PM ^
HBO wanted them back, but Brett and Jemaine do not think that they have enough good material to make another season.

I think we get 5. 3 silent, 2 vocal and 1 murmur. Then the question becomes who gets Peaced and Barnsed which is never noble.
February 20th, 2010 at 10:05 AM ^
And hopefully for those that do commit, they continue to keep up on their school work and take their tests seriously so they don't get Draked.

I read this topic and immediately thought 1, so I will go push

I'm going to be at the game tonight, so I will start slipping Chilli's coupons to recruits. No way they can turn down a buy one get one free entree coupon.
February 20th, 2010 at 10:59 AM ^
and he is seriously P*SSED that you stumbled onto Texas's fullproof recruiting strategy to lock-up a class early.
February 20th, 2010 at 11:01 AM ^
What is "fullproof"? Does it have anything to do with bulimia?
"Psssh! I promise Lindsay Lohan won't be too chubby for the photo shoot. She's fullproof."
February 20th, 2010 at 10:30 AM ^
My gut reaction was - OVER!!! But I wonder if the coaches are going to be more conservative with offers this year knowing that they can only sign ~15 players or so. Then again, it would be nice to lock down a couple of guys that you really like early.
I think they'll sign two, one of which will have the internets a buzz with why they wasted a scholarship on someone like that so early......
February 20th, 2010 at 10:39 AM ^
They're not being that conservative with offers. They've already mailed out over 60 of them.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:05 PM ^
Magnus, is the banner on your site supposed to say Michigan Foosball?
February 21st, 2010 at 12:09 AM ^
Just making sure
February 20th, 2010 at 4:49 PM ^
didn't you ever see the movie "Waterboy" with Adam Sandler?
February 20th, 2010 at 10:40 AM ^
I hope once RR gets our program back to dominance our recruiting goes as boring as UT. Lock up 12+ quality players early, then concentrate on the elite players going forward. One can dream...
February 20th, 2010 at 2:57 PM ^
is the function of Texas HS football size talent and Michigan HS football will never have that. Does Michigan regularly produce 12 high D1 caliber players yearly? Even if it did, what would be the odds that they all wanted to play at Michigan?
February 20th, 2010 at 3:08 PM ^
I can see it happening between Michigan and Ohio. If Michigan won 10 games last year, I would expect several commits today.
February 20th, 2010 at 3:42 PM ^
I agree with your statement. Texas has so many built-in advantages, probably more than any other school in the country. I don't think UM will ever enjoy the same results from their junior day like Texas. I was just saying it would be cool if they did.
February 20th, 2010 at 10:41 AM ^
I wonder how much weather plays into campus visits? I distinctly remember my visit to Mich on a day with weather very similar to this (sunny and brisk), and it just made the campus seem that much more surreal. On the other hand when I visited Duke, it was rainy an miserable. I know this this is sort of silly, but I can't help but believe that subconsciously it played a factor in the overall feeling of a college visit.
For that reason alone I say over!
February 20th, 2010 at 10:44 AM ^
I don't think we'll hear about any, although there could be 1-2 silent guys. We only have around 13 more spots.
February 20th, 2010 at 10:54 AM ^
The guys at Rivals are thinking there will be 15-17 spots in total.
February 20th, 2010 at 10:43 AM ^
Somebody has to be the grumpy pants here.
February 20th, 2010 at 11:03 AM ^
The momentum from NSD carries over, although I think it will only be 2
February 20th, 2010 at 11:27 AM ^
I gotta go with the push as well. If anything, I would lean to the under, though.
February 20th, 2010 at 11:32 AM ^
The opinion of the guys over at Rivals is that it's still too early in the process for many commitments. And the two most likely candidates to commit, Zettel and Beyer, are both likely to wait a little longer. I'm sure that both will commit, but as far as this weekend is concerned, it might not happen. Besides, I'd rather it be under right now anyway. It's highly unlikely that we'll get any major prospects (i.e. Depriest, Arnett, Thomas, etc.) to commit this early in the process and I'd like to fill up our class with top level talent. I'm well aware that Thomas isn't very likely and I know the story with Arnett liking the pro-style offense and his wait and see approach. I'm just using those prospects as examples. Zettel and Beyer will both be nice gets, but again, that's really the only top level talent I could see committing this weekend and even they are likely to wait a little while longer.
February 20th, 2010 at 11:34 AM ^
With the Big House looking complete, a gorgeous sunny day in A2, a packed house at Crisler and a victory against Penn State... I think we'll get two emotional commits.
February 20th, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
Since I have absolutely no idea, I'm going for 3 in honor of the 16 threes the hoops team is going to drop on PSU's head tonight.
It's either 3 or 16, and 16 seems a little optimistic. Just sayin.
February 20th, 2010 at 12:31 PM ^
I'll go with the over and say we get 2
February 20th, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
The real question is how much shame should we all feel that are topics were so bad we actually forced Magnus to make his own post. He's usually a counterpuncher the Mgoblogs Jimmy Connors.
I'm not sure how even posted does he have enough points??
February 20th, 2010 at 3:07 PM ^
Scout is reporting that something like 31 prospects made it up, so I like our odds of getting at least one. Either way, here's to a good day of basketball and good times had by all.
