I am sure he will say he came back because he wanted to buy a pig and really enjoys eating plain chicken at Buffalo Wild Wings.

So, there is this, and I believe he was quoted in one of the CTK segments as well - LINK

It might be as close to a clear answer as we would get - here he is being quoted by Nick Baumgardner:

"I was prepared last year to go to the NFL, but there's unfinished business here and that's the kind of stuff I want to do," Lewan said last month in Chicago. "There's nothing else to prove here except a Big Ten championship. "And all I know is failure here. That's all I've ever done is fail (at winning a Big Ten title). My biggest goal is the Big Ten championship."

Just in case you missed it the first time.

my buddy's mom makes $73 hourly on the internet. She has been out of work for 8 months but last month her pay check was $14499 just working on the internet for a few hours. Read more on this site

was posed as a guessing game. Lewan came back to play because he enjoys the college experience, wanted to be named a Michigan senior captain and lead his team to a championship in his last season. Plus, he could take out an insurance policy and almost guarantee his first year salary, which is locked in by the NFL, and still retain his top draft pick status or even enhance it. In short, he had nothing to really risk (except health) by staying for his senior year.

And how do I know this, because he's indicated as much in various statements over his time at Michigan. So, while most thought he would leave after last season, I thought otherwise because he'd never publicly declared any strong interest in leaving early, and what's more, seemed totally content to finish out all four years of school and graduate on time. Wow, what a concept.

So, I don't think that this is a stupid thread. Because if you don't actually believe his season of failure statement short of winning a championship, which is simply a team leader mouthing the principle of his coach, and which most of us agree with anyway, then exploring why he came back is sort of irrelevant because it goes without saying.

I know why, because bottom line, he likes being in college and on campus. And I think that's just great whether he actually said it or not. And you've all said the same thing in different ways.

I have to image nobody really cares.  It will come up when hack writers are bored and can't think of anything better, but he's not the first high-profile guy to come back nor the last.
