Overnight Open Thread

With the Harbaugh thread right below this to take the JH talk, if this takes another 2 hours to get over 200, that should lead to 3 am EST, and midnight west coast. If you're at the point that you don't want to scroll through a couple hundred posts at that point, maybe you should go to bed. ;-) Odds are Brandon isn't calling Harbaugh at this hour anyway.....but if You DO hear something, you can post it here.

Other SC news....Mallett goes pro. So does Ingram. And can Luck really not reconsider in the 10 days or whatever till the deadline? I mean, doesn't someone have to grab him and say ROOKIE CAP NEXT SEASON, THROWING AWAY $50 MILLION!! ?

I tried to start one of these threads to replace the old one a few minutes ago.  Guess Brian increased the point limits for everything while we're all still in time-out.

I'm okay with the timeline being shitty as long as we end up with the right guy, but this crap just takes over your life.  I've got the gal out of town so there is nothing stopping me from living in my bathrobe and trying not to get sauce from my frozen pizza on the refresh button.  Good God, Brandon, make this shit happen.

Supposedly the job has to be posted for a week before it can be officially filled according to state law (at least that is what the internet is saying).  I hope/doubt it will take that long for a decision to get made and for word of that decision to reach the masses though.

Because the job has to be posted for a week, per state law. In the last coaching search, it wasn't such a big deal because we didn't have similar time constraints to make a hire.

Are there still circumstances under which the ‘posting’ of individual positions is not
required or can be waived?
Yes. As in the past, only ‘available positions’ need to be posted. Exceptions to the
posting requirement (i.e. situations in which job postings need not be distributed)
include the following circumstances:
(i) the job includes among its explicit qualifications that the Employee be
enrolled in the department;
(ii) the job is reserved for a specific student in the department as part of a
funding package;
(iii) it would interfere with the need for timely hiring decisions made just
before or after the beginning of the teaching term (GEO should be notified
of ‘timely hiring’ posting exceptions at: staff at umgeo dot org);

Before next Wednesday. If I'm still sitting around on Monday/Tuesday nailing F5 like my life depended on it, I may just have to light something on fire. I mean, this whole thing has even forced me into a fucking Twitter account, just so I don't miss anything! I'm so ashamed @UMAmaizinBlue!
