The past couple months I've been kind of shocked by the number of people that think UConn is going to be a walk in the park win for the Wolverines this fall. Personally, when I saw that we were starting the season against them my thoughts were, oh shit.
Not only am I a Michigan fan but a huge College Football fan in general. My wife knows that Saturdays are reserved for football and I try and watch every game possible. I also like to put some money down on games and UConn was by far my favorite team to watch and to bet, they are the true underdog.
This is why we can't overlook UConn. In the 2009 season they were 8-2-1 ATS and 6-0 ATS on away games. I understand that they lost 4 games last year but all four of those loses were by no more than a four point defecit. They are returning their starting Qb, Rb, and Wr.
I'm not saying that we can't beat them but it's going to be a really tough game. I hope I'm wrong, I hope a lot of you are right and it's an easy win for us but from what I've seen and what the stats on paper suggest, it's going to be a battle and I don't think we should be overlooking them by no means.
