Outback Bowl Open Thread
As the MSU coach, Dantonio is now 1-4 in bowl games and 6-12 against ranked teams. This year he was 3-2 against ranked teams (first time north of .500 for him).

Is that the first time three overtimes have been played without a TD in a college game?
Glad the B1G wins over SEC but pissed that MSU won. I would have liked that bowl winless streak to continue.

MSU fans with the little brother complex more excited about trolling a Michigan board than celebrating a bowl win. Nice

It's not either/or. Spartan are celebrating their much deserved bowl win, thank you very much. Spartans also enjoy watching all the teeth gnashing of Wolvrerine posters who pretend they don't really care abouit MSU, but post more comments in this thread about the Outback Bowl than any other bowl thread today. Appears the shoe is on the other foot regarding the little brother complex.
1) MSU didn't give up - Georgia did. UGa played scared and handed MSU the game.
2) Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.
3) MSU has done a nice job of stepping up to fill the void created by Michigan's and OSU's respective implosions. Unfortunately for MSU, about 90% of the big plays that they made in that game were made by seniors or players not likely to return. It will be interesting to see what they do next year.

You're team just won a rare post season game and yet you're here on MGoBlog?

We are football fans and our bowl game is not until tomorrow. You'll notice that often times the BCS games are on after the typical, run-of-the-mill bowl games. Nice little win, though.

normally id be happy that the B1G beat the sec, but seeing mark dantonio and kirk cousins happy makes me want to vomit.
Brady Hoke: Kicking Ass And Signing Names On The Recruiting Trail
- I want the Big 10 to win.
- Our rival is Ohio, not MSU. Would rather a MSU win than Ohio win.
- Too much focus on MSU here. When someone can say Michigan is their favorite team, and whoever is playing Sparty is their second favorite, well, that person is on the way to being Sparty.
- An MSU win looks better for Michigan. If the teams we lose to lose, it makes us look worse.
- I want the SEC to lose whenever possible.
- Did I say, I want the Big 10 to win?

I put up a tough front, but deep down I just want to be held.
Of course it chafes us that we played MSU so early in the season before we really hit our stride. Things might have been different if we had played MSU later, but that is how the schedule shook out (MSU with bye week before, Toussaint injured, Denard staph infection, etc.). MSU also narrowly beat OSU when OSU didn't have most of its offense suspended.
MSU has done a good job of capitalizing on the recent mediocrity in the B1G, but I don't know if it is sustainable for them.
As far as "Sparty No" goes, your QB threw a pick in OT. That is not exactly a clutch performance, and should have been the game right there. You guys were just lucky that UGA was even more dedicated to throwing away the game than MSU was.

Why are you here troll?
If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?
You just won your first bowl game in about a thousand years, why are you on a University of Michigan message board?
See it through.
Actually, for a team that was implementing new schemes on both sides of the ball, there is a big difference between playing early and playing late. In Denard's first six games he had 3 multi-interception games. In his last six, he had none. Once Denard and the OC got on the same page, things improved dramatically on offense.
You act as if Michigan wasn't even close against MSU. The ill-fated 4th down play only happened because the previous play was spotted incorrectly. It should have been first down going in for the tying score. Late in the season Denard and Toussaint got healthy and things really clicked.
It is not just a coincidence that MSU has been playing well during a time when the dominant teams in the conference have been down (Michigan's rough transition during RR-era, MSU not playing OSU last year and playing a mostly suspended OSU team this year). As Michigan's roster and coaching are returning to form, things will return to the way they are supposed to be - MSU winning 2 or threes times against Michigan per decade. That begins next year.

Wow the trolls are out in full force too bad you couldn't do that in a BCS bowl. Congrats on your win over a middle of the pack SEC team a conference that Michigan owns.

Of course the difference is that the last four years are an anomaly that is unlikely to be repeated at any time in the near future. Coming off of MSU's best two years in decades, recruits still prefer Michigan, as do the bowls. When you guys are at your best, still nobody cares.

I need some upvotes the spartan trolls negged me.

The irony of an MSU fan calling a Michigan fan a jerk is priceless. Aren't you the guys who cheer injured Michigan players and had a player who punched one of ours. Yeah we're the classless ones.
903 wins most in college football
Yeah, until then we have nothing - other than our upcoming BCS game. And our highly-ranked recruits. And the biggest stadium and the most fans. And the ability to sell out our stadium. And more wins than any other team - ever. And a coach that is likable as a person and not a hypocrite. And integrity. Did I miss anything?
What is wrong with wondering whether or not MSU can sustain its recent success over any length of time? All of recorded football history suggests otherwise. Hell, even when they won national championships waaaaaay back in the 1960's MSU couldn't even win all of their games. The fact that their recent resurgence coincides exactly with Michigan's brief stint with mediocrity suggests that this is an anomaly that will be rectified shortly.

Great win for the B1G, getting swept in the 1 o'clock SEC v. B1G slate would've hurt everyone going forward. Need Wisconsin to pull a big one here, and then Michigan twice more and the B1G will be back to proper form.
