Out of state college football team newspaper theft
The football team at A&M-Commerce in Texas stole all the student newspapers because it reported on some of the team getting busted for dope.
The football coach is backing the players, and may have had some knowledge prior to the investigation.
Kind of puts MSU's backing criminal players in perspective.
and be one.
At Hillsdale College, the sports editor was writing about the baseball team negatively, so the team threw anmal carcasses on the lawn of the guys dorm or apartment.
I've been to Hillsdale. Depending on what kind of animal carcasses those might be considered thoughtful tokens of appreciation fron the locals.
(You have to drive to Coldwater of Jackson to visit a Meijer. It's just wrong.)
Adrian is closer than either, but not by much.
... after visiting, I agree with your interpretation of the events.
the OP's summation. How does it put the MSU thing in perspective? Football players steal newspapers > football players premeditated dorm attack? Say what? Nobody condones theft but a week doesn't go by where we don't hear about some athlete at some college shoplifting, or stealing someones cell phone or credit cards. How often do you hear about a premeditated beatdown by 10% of the football team? Stealing property is one thing. Assault is quite another.
What really sells this are the quotes:
Between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Feb. 25, members of the football team stole editions of The East Texan, which were distributed throughout campus newspaper racks. On Feb. 26, Crime Information Officer Lt. Jason Bone interviewed head coach of the football team Guy Morris, who said he advocated his players’ actions.
"I’m proud of my players for doing that," he said. "This was the best team building exercise we have ever done."
...
Also this quote from TAMU-C's athletic director, Cooper:
"I don’t think they are smart enough to do this on their own," Cooper said.

Exactly. Division 2 team steals newspapers, coach backs the team up, national news about how bad they are.
MSU's players storm a student dinner to beat down those students, MarkyD backs them, the press falls in love with the players.
I thought they finally found who stole the freep's integrity.
can you imagine the outrage? It would be right there with Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction.
How can you steal a free newspaper?
Free newspaper-yes
Free newspapers-no
They're not actually unlimited, just one copy is free. If you read the Michigan Daily it has the fine print along the lines of first copy free, additional copies $2 each and should be picked up at their office. It's at the bottom of the box listing their staff and masthead.
Haven't you heard the logic, facts, and statements that can be backed up have no place on the internet.
They needed more rolling papers
