OT/NSFW: Eastbound & Down

Submitted by Florida Blue on

I hope I am not the only one here that finds this to be one of the funniest shows ever.  Well I have seen that they are going to start production for season 2 this month but I can't find any dates for when it will actually be on HBO again.  Anyone have any idea?  Anyone else find this show overly hilarious?

For those who haven't seen it, pick up a copy of "The Foot Fist Way."  Danny McBride plays a Tae Kwon Do instructor from North Carolina and it is pretty much the greatest movie ever made.

I was hooked by the everyday Ashley Schaeffer low prices and didn't hold out for the closers.  I almost got a snowcone, though, but it looked like there was a human eye in the ice, so I passed.

The first season was hilarious. Hopefully the writing stays good enough to keep the show around for a while.

They are filming a season 2 episode at the Condado in San Juan right now.  I spent half an hour at the bar waiting for him to do or say someting funny.  We were not impressed by the quality of his entourage.  He does have the eternal insufferable redneck look about him though

I have never heard of this show before I saw this post. I don't have HBO anyways, but I watched that youtube clip and it was absolutely awesome. I wish I could watch it now.

Maybe you are relatively old or something, but (no offense), anyone in the 15-35 year old range with any sort of social life has heard of EB&D.

And I'm not talking like the "RAGE, RAGE, RAGE" social life - I'm talking about simply having conversations with other people your age that are something different than about dice with more than six sides, what type of class is best in world of warcraft, and which type of marvel comic book hero is the coolest.

I'm definitely in the 15-35 age range, and I haven't heard of it. Not a nerd like you explained, but whatever. I really don't hear about HBO shows at all because nobody my age watches them because most people simply don't have it. There aren't commercials for EB&D that I have seen, and I've only seen a commercial for one or maybe two HBO shows. Ever. You would think I would have heard of it if it was so huge. It is relatively new since it only has one season out correct? I think you might be overestimating the popularity of the show, but what do I know?

you can get torrents for the shows but they also sell the first season which I am a proud owner of.  I laugh my ass off from start to finish.  Stevie's character just grows and grows as the season goes on and he starts to rival Kenny in the end.

For those of you who don't have HBO - get fucking HBO.  It's like 5 bucks a month or something like that.  I'm not even much of a TV guy, but between the movies and shows like EB&D, Entourage, Nurse Jackie, Trueblood, etc it's about the best money I spend all year.

Showtime is a close second.  I think I get both for about 10 bucks a month and that gets me like 4 HBO channels and 4 Showtime channels.  It shouldn't be a money thing.

Nurse Jackie is on Showtime right?  But you forgot about The Pacific (excellent).

Also, what cable company charges $5 per month for HBO?  I think these days it's $10-$15 per month.

Yeah, not that much, but still... like $120-$180 per year on something you will probably watch less than 100 hours per year.

Yeah, sometimes I get Showtime shows and HBO shows mixed up.  And I don't think our HBO/Showtime bundle is much more than about 15 per month.

But if you're watching 100 hours per year of HBO and Showtime (that's less than 2 hours per week, math wizards) then you probably shouldn't buy it.  That's one movie a week, and no TV shows.  One of the things my wife and I love about HBO is the on-demand, and we watch an on demand movie about once a week, sometimes more sometimes less.  If it's a money issue, think about how much a DVD costs to buy, even rent.  Now think about how much it costs to go see a movie in the theaters.  One movie date without any popcorn or soda is a month and a half of HBO and Showtime.

Gettin drunk on the reg... Fuckin good times on the reg... Yachts on the reg... Sex on the reg... Basically all the shit that most men fantasize about.

Well I guess I have added " Listen up you beautiful bitch, I'm about to fuck you up with some truth" to my repertoire, and used it several times. 1A and 1B in my opinion.

I heard that it should be on the air sometime in September/October, but I could be wrong.

This show is hands down my favorite show on television -- only having like 8 episodes really sucked.  My favorite character is Stevie Janowski - so awesome.

after the first 5 minutes of the pilot, I was in love.

Kenny: [via motivational tapes] I've been blessed with many things in this life - an arm like a damn rocket, a cock like a Burmese python and the mind of a fuckin' scientist. So people often ask me, "Kenny, what are your weaknesses - do you have any?" I would say that my biggest flaw, my Achilles heel, is my tireless work ethic.

Danny works a lot w/ Will Farrel and has been on my radar since "The Foot Fist Way"

This line was a classic as well:

"You should've seen my fuckin cookouts man. When i was back in seattle, I had the fuckin spoonman from the soundgarden videos comin to my shit. oh yeah, im talkin, six grills burnin at all times, tiki torches, 3 whole pigs, fuckin shitloads of macaroni and cheeses, baked potatos, collared greens, a horse, fuckin puerto rican chicks showin their pussies and tits off everywhere. they were amazing."

Sorry about the language but that episode was great. They all were.

Undaunted, I knew the game was mine to win. Just like in life, all of my successes depend on me. I'm the man who has the ball, I'm the man who can throw it faster than fuck. So that is why I am better than everyone in the world. Kiss my ass and suck my dick. Everyone.

" A lot of people ask me, 'Kenny Powers, you're a giant superstar. You can get any woman. Have you ever paid for sex?' And the answer is yes, I have. Several times, in fact. And it's actually kinda cool. You can negotiate practically anything and sometimes, even just kind of do stuff in the moment that you never agreed to pay for and it goes by without much argument."

"I ACTUALLY FEEL REALLY BAD NOW; IT'S JUST THAT, *I'M KENNY POWERS!* AND I HAVE A REAL HARD TIME EXPRESSING MY EMOTIONS BUT I'M NOT GOING TO STOP YELLING BECAUSE THAT WOULD MEAN I LOST THE FIGHT!!"

But I'm really not.  I just think America is the best country and all the other countries aren't as good.  That used to be called patriotism.
