OT:Lamarr Woodley Michigan Jersey

Submitted by ClevelandWolverine55 on

Do any of you know where I could find a Lamarr Woodley Michigan Jersey? He's my favorite wolverine of all time and since I'm a Browns fan I wouldnt dare buying his steeler jersey.  Some direction would be much appreciated.

Not true. Although pads (and the men wearing them) are obviously big, the jerseys worn by DLinemen, Linebackers, and OLinemen especially are made to fit so tightly that usually the player himself cannot put it on over his pads without assistance; they often take multiple people to help him put it on. The reason is so they can't be held; players used to actually spray Pam non-stick cooking spray on their jerseys to help with this also until it was outlawed. The jerseys usually have some sort of synthetic material in them such as lycra or something woven in which helps them stretch over the pads so they are as tight as humanly possible. Thus, when they are worn without pads, they are smaller than you'd think and can be worn by a normal person.

I would say with 99.999 percent assurance that jersey is a fake.  It probably is authentic, however, there is no way Woodley was wearing a size 48 which is a medium.  I have 48 and 50 jerseys and I am quite tall and skinny and nowhere near the weight or muscle Woodley has.  I would be shocked if he could even fit in a size 48, it would look like a elephant in a speedo.

I have a authentic helmet from the BCS game against Texas that was a players who never played in that game, so it's clean.  And I have a jersey that is game used by Jay Feely, which has the nameplate removed and is def worn and torn...the only reason I knew it was Feely is because after figuring out the year of the jersey the only other player that wore that number that year was a youngster named Dhani Jones and there is no way he was wearing the size 48.  Nike runs fairly true to size but a 48 is fine on me, but wearing pads it would be fairly tight and would not be easy to move around in, if you factor in the extra 100 plus pounds and muscles that Woodley has the seller is on crack if he thinks it is game worn.  Woodley probably wore a 52 or 54, not to mention that year they did sell authentic jerseys in number 56, or more than likely it was #56 Lawrence Reid LB 6-1, 219lbs.  They wore those jerseys in 2002 and someone 219 is more likely to squeeze into that then someone 260+.

I would just go to mden and buy a custom made jersey with the #56 on it, although you can't write woodley in the back. That will run you about $110. Personally i would get a custom #56 that reads LAMARR($120). Or just get #56 and leave the name blank.
