Four years ago, when I signed to come play at USC, I never thought this day would come. But the time has come for me to find a new home. Thank you to my teammates. From my recruiting class of 12 strong who came here in the heart of sanctions, to all of my other teammates I have encountered during my time here, I will never forget the grind and will always remember going to battle with you guys. I thank you boys for voting me captain, as it was one of my most proud moments. Keep grinding and I will always be rooting for all of you guys. Thank you to the boys: The OM crew, The Stable, WP1A and the men of LXA. You guys made the good times at SC great, and showed me why SC is such a special place. My four years here confirmed and even bolstered what I learned from high school; I have had the best of friends and teammates anyone could ask for. I walk away from USC falling short of many of my goals, but I also walk away with a full heart, lifelong relationships, and memories that will last a lifetime. I will certainly have an assortment of feelings when I look back at my 4 years here at SC, but I will always remember the unbelievable people I encountered along my path as a Trojan. I'm hungry and ready to attack the next step in both football and in life. Please stay in touch everyone, love you all. Fight On!

Hypothetically OKorn could leave just as easily as Morris. Hypothetically, Malzone could see the writing on the wall with Speight (probably) having the next two years and Peters and McCaffery coming in and get out of town too. I'm not advocating for Browne to come but QBs-transferring-out situation isn't exactly set in stone.

we have plenty of guys.  But we don't know what will happen in the off-season.  As you say, one or more guys may decide to seek PT somewhere else.  I doubt that will effect the 2017 class though.  McCaffery is going to be the only take.  But it wouldn't rule out (potentially) taking a transfer next spring if the right person were there AND we had an open spot on the roster.  Obviously, that'll be up to the coaches to figure out.

Yeah, both will be 5th years. O'Korn already left once for playing time. If he can grad transfer to like a MAC school or something, are we sure he is going to want to spend his 5th year in what looks to be a clear backup role rather than playing somewhere else? [I assume he'll have a degree]. Not saying it is going to happen but I don't think you can just dismiss it out of hand.

I'd be suprised if Morris is the only one who leaves (if he does) when we have 3 other QBs. Realistically, Malzone is only 1 year behind Speight and looking at being a backup until his 5th year, at best, and then competing with Peters/McCaffrey/New guys in 2019. And since we're not taking another QB this cycle and Browne would not be around in 2018, it shouldn't impact recruiting. Only relevent to the quest to get to 85 this fall. Now, Browne was a pretty meh QB at USC, but having an experienced hand for one year to backup Speight could make sense if we lose Morris and one more.

What is "Max Browne"?

A) A charachter in a John Grisham series with titles like  "Maximum Security Prison Break."

B) The Name of a Disney Show (wich the subtitle "Takes on Middle School"

C) A typo on a name card in a pastry shop display.

D) What I shout when I am about to take the Browns to the Super Bowl

"He asked for permission to talk to everyone and we granted everyone," USC coach Clay Helton said in November. "I think that's the only respectful thing for him. You want the best opportunity for yourself and you don't know where that would be.

That's a great stance for Helton to take really and you would hope more coaches felt that way about players and didn't try to block them from talking to institutions that they might play, either in or out of conference. Way to make it about a student looking for the best opportunity for themselves, not about trying to maintain a competitive edge necessarily.

I am fine with

Speight

Peters

D-Caff

walk on

as our depth

if one of O'Korn or Malzone stay, that's cool too

Shane's time has come and gone tbh

If he ends up anywhere in the Big Ten, my guess would be either Michigan St., and maybe Mike Riley takes a swing at him as well.

More likely he does what a lot of grad transfers do and drops down to a Mountain West or AAC team.

Take all the QBs!! I want to see at least 3 QBs in a package set on offense. Give me 3 serviceable QBs that can run and pass, and let the mayhem commence. Defensive sphincters would be puckered forever.

I don't think they need this Max Browne but I hope Jim and staff take another high school stud along side McCaffrey. Take a guy away from Georgia or some California team. Them dudes waste their talent with those coaching staffs and never get to play in big games. Why cant they see these things? McCaffrey and some well rounded kid should understand the importance of competition and having enough amo in the gun cabinet for unfortunate situations and the overall success of the best team. The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be! Bar farging none! Go Blue and go Colorado!

With our current QB situation, we should be standing pat. We can use the scholarship for a DT that will smash the next buckeye QB.
