I mean, let's use some common sense here.  First If a deal was almost done, it would be out there.  Second, while Harbaugh certainly decide to take another run at the NFL sometime, I'm guessing he's not going to take a job with terrible upper management.  Guess what kind of management the Colts have?

If he ever leaves UM it will be for a franchise with an owner like Bob Kraft.  The Irsays have been one of the worst ownership groups in NFL history. It's a testament  to Manning's greatness that the Colts have so thoroughly changed their image that people forget how poor the Irsays have been as owners.

We will have to endure this until Indy hires their new coach.  Worse, recruits will keep hearing it too.

I know that Harbaugh calls his own tune, but I would really like him to announce in public that he is flat out not a candidate for this or any NFL job.

The NFL slappys will still say "Of course, what do you expect him to say?", but it is still better than leaving silence up to people's imagination.

But I think he'll keep quiet for a few years and eventually snap during an interview. If he does intend on staying at Michigan forever, eventually he's going to have to put all the rumors to rest. He'll wait until we have a permanent AD before that happens though. Although I don't understand how people can't see that he's living a dream he's had his entire life. Same street as Bo. Kids at St. Francis. Jay on staff. Building a house for Jack and Jackie to retire in.

most of us understand that it is the general manager Grigson and not coach Pagano that is the problem. I was a fan of the Colts for a long time just because I live here but I am going to hate them with a passion from now on. Anyways I've always been a New England guy from the get go so there.

More NFL Harbaugh irony in the Bills cutting Mario Williams. Led the NFL in sacks, until Rex Ryan shows up and blows the defense apart. Remember Poindexter John Clayton with no small amount of personal ire and butthurt declaring Ryan as the hands down best off season coaching hire, and Harbaugh to Michigan being #2. He was so dismissive of the move, it really rocked a lot of NFL insiders world views. The season end results would disagree with that ranking, however.

has wreaked havoc for the two teams that ran it this year (BUF and CLE). Players in both cities have said that it is too complicated, and they have to think too much, which makes them a step slow. The proof is in the (poor) performance in both cities. Pettine is unwilling to simplify things, stating over and over that it's not the scheme, its the execution (like Borges' offense). Rex obviously isn't changing things either. As a fan, the same story coming from players in both cities adds credence to their unhappiness, as it serves as independent verification to each other. I'm hoping the Browns find a new staff and there's a Mattison-esque turnaround next year. At the same time, the Browns go through regimes like paper towels, and I really want them to try continuity, if only because its something they haven't tried before.

this is OT. No way harbaugh is thinking about the colts. Ravens would be stupid to let John walk also

Wow I have just read on twitter that Jim Irsay recently sent a "colts-themed" fruit basket to the office of Harbaugh's agent David Dunn.  This is gonna be a wild ride.

“I don’t think that’s happening any time soon for Brian Kelly. I’m the owner, the GM, I’m the football coach. Very rarely do you have those scenarios in the NFL. … If you’re going to make that move to the NFL, you have to understand what you’re getting into.”

Even all time greats like Bill Parcells left organizations because of a power struggle at the top.

Full control is key? Name me 3 coaches in the past 20 years where that has worked out for them and I will even spot you one in BB.  As soon as you promote a HC to GM you may as well fire him as it rarely works out the way you intend.

Running a team in the NFL is hard.  Kelly (like countless others) got way in over his head dealing with personnel issues and has killed any change of the Eagles competing for the next 2-3 years.

this sucks because it means one more opening that's light years more attractive than the Browns job, which means fewer candidates available that are a step up in class than Pettine, which increases the likelihood Haslam sticks with the status quo
