Mine would have. That's why I just thought maybe every kid with cash in hand isn't handling "dirty money."
OTish: Alabama F Dee Liner photo with cash
When in this thread did it become $5, 000, any damn way? Last I saw it 1G tops.
Is this the price is right?
I took some pics like this with my direct deposit pay stubs, but it just didn't look as cool.
Tremendous savers these SEC guys are. Good for them.
A big stack of $20's? How dare they have roughly a grand!! They look like idiots and deserved being mocked for being clowns, but that's about it. Maybe they worked a summer job for three weeks. Surprised to see people so easily fooled by chumps putting the big bill on top. And if they got the small stack illegally...whatever, is anyone surprised?
can't speak for the guy in the middle, but the other two are clearly holding a bunch of Franklins.
The guys on the left and right each have one hundred dollar bill on the top of the stack. Same trick used by guys worldwide, trying to look like they have more money then they do. I guess if folks want to jock these lower case g's for something...at least they didn't roll 1's underneath.
I took a closer look at that last night after I saw a few people people mention that. The kid in the middle has a bunch of twenties for sure on the bottom of that stack, and in one of the other photos (I think the left one), you can definitely see that the first few bills are hundreds before the denominations get shorter (presumably aslo twenties if the kids are holding the same stack, which they probably are).
Anyway, none of this means anything if we can't actually prove that cash was not procured in an illegal fashion.
I don't have enough points to post a topic, but Demetrius Knox just committed to Ohio State.
His face says it all..he has the "oh shit" look like he is holding a NCAA violation
Give them a citation for their pants hanging off their asses too.
there is that racism I was talking about...
Those pictures are obviously fake. Alabama players and recruits get paid a hell of a lot more than that.
My head and ass are right where they belong. I'm not naive enough to think that cash gifts don't go down at a lot of places...perhaps most. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. I don't believe every kid driving a BMW or Benz is receving illegall benefits. Some kids just have families that can provide that. I do like to think that Brady Hoke and company do it "the right way" and I honestly believe they do.
Well, for what it is worth, "The Capstone Report" (an Alabama blog) is already musing about this particular incident (HERE).
The author defends Liner to a point, assuming that Liner probably didn't think that this photo would get much airplay beyond his friends and family (he certainly wasn't being thoughtful regardless), but then they end it with this passage:
"Pictures like this make the statement that some kids need the discipline college athletics and education brings a lot more than the programs and institutions need them, and if Liner doesn’t get that message quickly, he’ll be sitting with Brent Calloway up in the stands on Saturdays."
He does also mention that it may make some Alabama fans uncomfortable to see something that even sniffs of a violation, but he also points out the likelihood of the NCAA doing something to satisfy the schadenfreude of opposing fans might be slim.
Not sure why you referenced manziel. His family is loaded. There is no question as to the source of his funds.
Is so good right now. Being that its summer and all. So much grass....
I just figured that he successfully robbed a local 7-11.
"Look everybody, I just got paid!"
One of these days posing with fanned cash bills is going to go stale and lame, as it should have over 10 years ago. Yet for whatever reason it still seems to be considered a hip thing to do by young men. Most kids gaze upon these photos and laugh, mainly because they are ridiculous and stupid.
Interestingly, tuition at Alabama undergrad is $5K resident, $12K non-resident.
When are these kids going to get with the times? US Dollars?! Show us your bitcoin balances!
student beating up and robbed on campus, roll cash tide
He better hope Brett Calloway, DJ Pettway, Tyler Hayes, and Eddie Williams aren't still hanging around campus. If they are, he better hide that money or just put it in the bank.
But one thing that is possible - maybe he took out the max he could for student loans knowing that for one, his school is already paid for and two: he could pocket the cash thinking it's easy pay back when he gets to the NFL?
I had scholarships cover my tuition freshman year and took out 5k to live off as well with my part time job. Can athletes do that as well?
They can take out the difference in full cost and the scholarship. They can also get credit cards and car loans so could live a nice life if they didn't mind the debt.
they took the photos in some facility bathroom.
