the other type of spread vs. UConn

Submitted by mgokev on

The title may be misleading given the type of offense we currently run, but I'm talking about the gambling spread vs. UConn.  Before Woolfolk's injury, it was UM -3.5.  Now, it's UM -3.  And if more people keep picking up UConn I expect it to be back to the opening line (-2.5) come game time.

Thoughts?  Good bet? Stay away?  I generally never bet for or against UM, but I have this feeling we are going to win by 10+ points.  Then again, that's probably me being way too excited to start the season....

I'd feel safe going with MI.  Good DE play is crucial against the zone read, and they lost both of their starters (injury) from a team that couldn't stop dual threat QB's last year.

I couldn't possibly look at this game from a betting standpoint, seems so difficult. As an M fan sure seems like our offense could kill them. But from the perspective as any other fan is there a riskier bet than possibly an overhyped team thats lost a few openers lately.

Last I checked the line for the OSU game was 14.5.  I think that is crazy and I am considering betting my car on it.  I think it is good to get your bets in early in the season when everyone still considers us a 5-7 team before we start turning heads.  Here's to the last 2 seasons paying off when we cover every week!

a few minutes. Believe it or not, I remember when he first came to Ann Arbor in the 70s--I was at Huron then. Boy did he used to pester the girls. We had a little thing called the Friday Afternoon Wine Drinkers Club, and would skip out of a period or two and head into the woods for tokes and various selected reds. Somehow, magically, he show up there, too. What a bogart that guy was.

for an expert opinion.

Wait, I know I'll be foolishly in on the action come game day whatever it is. At least I've managed not to spoil my Super Bowl winnings, so I've got some "free money" to throw at UM this fall.

I know we are going to be way better, but I don't know enough to put money on it if that makes sense.  I hope it shrinks or UCONN is favored.  I think being expected to do nothing helps us this year.

It didn't help a very young team to be back in the top 25 after week 2 last year.  Michigan isn't Michigan until they are Michigan and they still weren't Michigan at that point.

But there will be a point.......
