OT:Al "Gee, I love Wolverine Recruits" Golden...interested in Tate?

Submitted by swamyblue on

(Al Golden/Rod Blagojevich aka "Blago" )

According to this, Tate is interested in Miami.  Or vice versa. Whateva!

Actually, I'd like a bit of help in settling a little debate between my buddy and I today.  My argument: Al G. and Blago were separated at birth.  What say'eth?

Thanks in advance...

P.S. a smidgeon of resemblance = yes... (beer goggle rule in effect)

We need to have, "Tater gonna Tate"  and, wait for it, wait for it...

"Graders need to wait"

See what i did?

EDIT:  Sorry, I see the potatoe, but I meant the real QBForce picture and then one of the professors who dared to give him an incomplete, thereby forcing the U(oM) to give up on him.

Stephen Morris who started a few games as a true freshman this past season.  To be honest, he's better than Jacoby Harris who has been mistake prone.  I believe that Morris had connections with Michigan but was never seriously pursued despite the fact that he camped at Michigan twice.

Four great weeks of hopefulness in 2009. We stood by him and hoped it would all work out. I wish him the best and hope he matures. His Father quotes sound like a pageant Dad. Its time to root quietly for Tate.

He was one breath away from being the next HC at PSU.  Would have really sucked having recruits poached by another B10 school...wait, that's what it feels like being a Purdue fan I think.

PSU fans are gonna go crazy if he's successful in Miami.  JoePa staying is really hurting PSU long-term.

Not required for either of those two handsome devils.

On a serious note, can Tate just transfer to a place like Miami?  Didn't he basically washout academically at Michigan?  I would think that sort of thing would create a problem with getting eligible no matter where he ends up.

There is no way Forcier would have been kicked off of Miami for his academic performance at Michigan.  They don't do that down here.  He would have been given a couple of incompletes, played his bowl game, and finished his coursework in time to be eligible for spring practice.  At Miami, the only thing easier than getting a star football enrolled is keeping him eligible.

That being said, unless Golden can diminish the power of the Dade/Broward clique, they would eat Forcier alive and spit out his remains in the 'glades.  Sorta like they did to Robert Marve.  YTM is no place for a California boy who has already burned his redshirt year with a transfer.

My point is that if he isn't academically eligible at one school, I don't see how he can just show up somewhere else and magically be deemed eligible without some sort of course work in between (even if he would have been able to skate by if he'd been in Coral Gables to begin with).  I'm not sure how the NCAA or individual schools handle that sort of thing (and would be curious to find out) but I imagine you can't just switch schools and get an immediate do-over.  That being said, he has a redshirt year in the bag still so maybe it wouldn't be an issue for another AQ program to bring him on board and give him time to get his academics back in order.

When Brady was first announced as HC, some supporters used the Chizik comparison when people brought up BH's unimpressive overall record.  Doesn't it seem like the same could be used for Al?  He improved Virginia's defense as Def. Coord. and turned Temple around the way BH did with Ball St. and SDSU.  If Golden can get the same kind of support that BH is getting and snag a few key recruits, it seems like he could be very successful at Miami.  It's not like the ACC is "Murderer's Row" as a certain bow-tied jagoff would put it.

Wow, they do look alike. I think is some crazy secret marketing ploy from LEGO to introduce their new plastic snap on hair.  Ever want to look like the plastic toy that littered you'r bedroom floor when you were seven?
