Zeller seems to me to be one of those guys that could have become a great, great college player. If he learned when to face up, got more consistent on his jumper, and didn't get a "foul every time in the post" rule so he had to develop quicker and better post moves, he has all the tools to be really good at this level.

All that said, I don't see it in the NBA. I think he's probably stuck playing the 4 or a backup 5, for as skilled as he is he still loses control far too often (and he won't get whistles just for falling over in the NBA), and I'm not sure he's that good on defense against bigger and quicker guys. I think he'll still go first round/lottery, but if I was an NBA GM, I wouldn't take him that high.

Zeller is a scrawny bitch and I think he will get dominated in the NBA. I'm glad though, as M won't have to face him (and Oladipo) anymore.

Here's a serious question: We know Indiana's run with this core is over now that Oladipo and Zeller are gone. They won the B1G outright and a #1 seed, swept us, and had a great season. We did none of that. But we made the final. Looked great. Saw the Shot. Would any of us trade seasons with them, assuming both teams are rebuilding next year? I wouldn't. Not at all.

I agree, but a lot of it has to do with the situations. Michigan won the B1G last year and has had a stigma attached to the program ever since that the Ed Martin scandal, while Indiana didn't seem to get nearly as much of a stigma as they went through their violations and ensuing down period. Getting back to the Final Four and erasing the last of those "Not since the Fab Five" anchors was a lot more important to Michigan than another B1G banner, while Indiana's long term future is probably helped the most by standing along on top of the B1G reminding everyone they are blue blood program.

I would rather win the B1G next year, get the #1 seed and make the finals again. Except we would win by 10. Just sayin.

PS. A sweep of Ohio and State would be bonuses.

...as well as Watford and Hulls, that's 52 of their average 78 points per game from this season walking out the door, or 66% of their total scoring. As for Zeller specifally, I think that means that 105% of Indiana's free throws just left as well.

I have trouble seeing Zeller as physically ready for the NBA despite having center size. As others have mentioned, I tend to think he'll struggle on defense, especially against teams with some length (we saw that in the Hoosiers' game against Syracuse).

Not on par with the actual thread title but it's been mentioned a bit up top, regarding next years Big Ten talent; Iowa is going to have one hell of a team next year.  Be on the look out for them and us to compete for the Big Ten title (of course Sparty and Indiana, maybe Ohio, and Wisconsin will have something to say).  Of all teams, Iowa loses the least.  Eric may was a decent player and senior leader this past season but his role/output is very replaceable.
