OT: Yards after Mundy, NFL version, part 2

Submitted by Tacopants on
So, we've already had a yards-after-Mundy situation this year (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ryan-mundy-leaves-his-mark-sd-pitt-game), but Mundy in this game lead with his head on Oakland's final drive, giving them an unnecessary first down. Oakland goes on to score. Pittsburgh fans weep, and now the country has been introduced to Yards After Mundy.

to mention that when Oakland went on to score, it was his man wide open in the endzone with him standing about ten feet away covering no one.

who was classy when he was in our program, classy AFTER he left our program. Didn't say a negative WORD about his stay here. Yeah, lets do that and at the same time pretend we are any better than those couch burning hicks in EL.

...so I see no problem with them. Besides, YAM is pretty funny. And a whole new "generation" of posters who weren't here in the beginning (like me) now know about it. I think everybody wins here: we get to laugh, no couches sustain any damage except for normal wear and tear, and Mundy still gets paid to play football.

Why is it okay to pick on Mundy but not okay not talk about BE's granite hands? Mundy is getting significant playing time on one of top 10 teams in the NFL. Compared to him most of us (notice I am included in this) are losers. I think we should appreciate his commitment. The OP neglected to mention one bone jarring hit that Mundy put on a receiver in the same game. Such selective blindness is what bugs me.

I like Ryan Mundy, he just always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. On that note, I don't think he really cares about YAM, especially when ESPN commentators are saying things like "If Troy Polamalu were in this game, Oakland loses". Guess who Mundy is playing for? Lighten up and laugh for awhile. It gets you through the long and cold offseason.
