[CACKLING WITH GLEE] Ha ha ha ha ha. Note to Minnesota: More to come. Enjoy it. You suck! ... I'm still mad.

As a Yankees fan I was glad for the Twins making it to the play-offs. They may be the hot team now but the Tigers seemed like a much more worrisome opponent with their starting pitching. That plus it sucked seeing the Tigers beat the Yankees in the ALDS a few years back when I was in Michigan, and having to listen to the stadium cheer when the score of one game was announced during a football game.

I was a very conflicted Yankee fan. On the one hand, the Twins are a much less difficult opponent for the Yanks - it takes really good starting pitching, like a Verlander to shut them down in the playoffs. On the other hand, I had tickets to take my kids to game 3 in Detroit, so I was really disappointed when the Tigers lost.

I have to say, at least Yankees fans know what they are. Twins fans are like Packers, Jazz, Duke, Notre Dame (etc.) fans....they think they have this perfect, uncorrupted team. Lots of scrappy white guys, lots of fundamentals, lots of hustle. I know a few Twins fans, and the thing they all said after the Cabrera thing was "oh, a Twins player would never do that." Not to mention the outrage when the golden boy Joe Mauer was caught clearly stealing signs. "Oh no, you're wrong, a Twins player would never do that. We play the game the right way..." Ugh.... I think I'll enjoy the shadenfreude of the next two Yankees beatdowns.

you're absolutely right. Just like: Carlos Gomez. Alexei Casilla. Denard Span. Orlando Cabrera. Delmon Young (hardly a choir boy). Francisco Liriano. And, in the recent couple years, Johan Santana, Torii Hunter, Jacques Jones, Shannon Stewart (not the Playboy model), LaTroy Hawkins, Eddie Guardado, Dennys Reyes. Leave race out of it, it's not worth arguing about. As for the rest of your post, if you're a Tigers fan (as I am), I'm really not sure you are in any position to be a schadenfreud-er right now, considering the Tigers' historic collapse since September 7th or, alternatively, since last Thursday. The Twins stepped up and got it done. The Tigers did not. That's the bottom line - either of the teams would lose to the team that spends a billion dollars on payroll, and that's OKAY. Life goes on.

My post had nothing to do with the Twins team, it was about their fans. Obviously I have nothing but respect for the way the Twins team won out down the stretch...very impressive without Morneau. My point about the white guys is that they are who the fans always talk about as the "heart and soul of the team". The guys like Punto, Cuddyer, Kubel, Nathan, etc. I won't argue that those guys are very good players who had great stretch runs, but who's to say they don't go out and get drunk and fight with their wives? Twins fans, that's who. Because "Twins players would never do that. We're different." So negbang away if you want, but I'm going to enjoy the shadenfreude of the Yankees massacre, just like I enjoy it when Utah, Notre Dame, Duke, or any of the other holier than thou teams gets crushed.

I like the Yankees, I have tons of fam in the Bronx. So even though I was sad to see Detroit lose there's comfort in knowing that the Yankees will beat the living shit out of the Twins. Twins are just happy to be in the playoffs. Hopefully the Tiegrs make some changes and next year they are able to win the AL Central.

Right, I'm sure the Twins have that mindset. Although, it would be understandable that they'd be bored getting to the preseason all the time, seeing how they've won 5 of the past 8 AL Central Division titles. Rip on them all you want, the owner tried to contract his own team in the past 10 years - look how the manager and his players have responded. That is admirable.

By your posts it's obvious that you have Joe Mauer's dick in or around your mouth. And you mean post season not preseason right? The Twins obviously "think" they can win but they know they have no chance. If you're giving the Twins a chance that's fine but at the end of the 3 game series you'll see they are by no means a match for New York.

The only bad things in this game were the lack of twins getting beaned and the yankees not putting up 20 on them. Yes, I'm bitter. Yes, that makes me a horrible person. Nothing anyone can say will keep me from enjoying the yankees imminent destruction of the twins, especially watching them close down that god forsaken building they try and call a baseball field with the yankees celebrating all over the turf. It will be even sweeter when they steal Mauer away. Just to throw a little more hate out there, Mauer went to ND feeder school Cretin-Durham, an evil place. Hopefully it can redeem itself by sending Seantrel Henderson our way, but for the moment, still evil.

Paul Molitor, Chris Weinke, Steve Walsh and Michael Floyd also went to CRETIN-DERHAM HALL. I hope one day to send my own children there. It is renowned for its academics and yes, has great academic programs. Last time I checked, there will be a baseball season in 2010. Enjoy the offseason, get rid of your spite, and enjoy the Tigers' success in the coming seasons, as I will. But stop criticizing the Twins for getting done (without an MVP candidate and 3/5 of their starting rotation) what the Tigers could not.

I wasn't actually disparaging the school, simply bringing up an interesting fact in a humorous manner. Where, exactly, did I criticize the twins? I criticized the Homerdome, which everyone hates, and said I want them to fail. I want OSU to fail, that doesn't mean I think they are a bad team, it only means I hate them. Also, don't get up on your high horse and try to tell us not to enjoy the yankees beating up the twins. Some people aren't as classy and good natured as you, some of us enjoy watching people we don't like fail. Nothing you can say or do will change that, so don't waste your breath.

A few Things 1. I believe this is a best of seven series, so no one will win in three. 2. jg2112, your ardent defense of the Twins is fine and all, but if Tiger fans have left over frustration with the Tigers/Twins it's fine they want to see NYY pummel them. I do agree with you about Cretin though. It's a very nice school.
