OT: WTKA APP

Submitted by AHM16 on

I think this has been discussed on the board already. When using the WTKA app it shuts down a few minutes into the podcast. I tweeted at the Michigan Insider and got a reply, they said that Wi-Fi and bars of service were the biggest indicator of proper streaming. Mind you I have Verizon with full bars of service and Wi-Fi while at work when I attempt to listen to the podcasts. What gives ???

I used to download the podcast daily on Itunes, but about a year and a half ago the podcast was no longer on the itunes podcast list.  Are you saying that it is back up?  If so, I am downloading it now.

Someone mentioned wtka didn't have the funds to fix their apps so the podcasts would work. If so, and if anyone has any connections there, maybe we could do a kickstarter??? I enjoy listening to the podcasts on the way to work here in Chicago but often miss large chunks of the show.

They should remove it from the app store until it is fixed. Every day I would try to listen to the podcast and everyday I would be pissed at the station after a few minutes. And for some reason since the app ame out I can never listen Sam's show on TuneIn (I think it used to get repeated during the day which was great).

I completely deleted the wtka app.

That app never works properly with the stream. I have the same issues. It works for about three or four minutes and the stream just stops with no message stating why.

Anyway, don't use their app, as you should use either TuneIn Radio or iHeardRadio. Both are free apps to download.

I use the app called 'Pocket Casts' on my iPhone.  If I remember correctly it costs $2 but I've had zero problems listening to the WTKA podcasts.  It's not a live stream, but you can listen to the different segments shortly after they are aired. It's not perfect, but I think it's worth it.
