OT: WrestleMania 28

Submitted by bronxblue on

Slow sports day, but in the world of Sports Entertainment we've got the other Granddaddy of them all.  Here's the card:

  • Preshow:  Primo and Epico vs. The Usos vs. Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd (Triple Threat Tag Team Title Match)
  • Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs. Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres (Tag Team match)
  • Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny (12-man tag team match)
  • Randy Orton vs. Kane Singles match
  • Cody Rhodes vs. The Big Show (WWE Intercontinental Championship)
  • Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus (World Heavyweight Championship)
  • CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho (WWE Championship)
  • Triple H vs. The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell)
  • The Rock vs. John Cena (Main Event)

I predict wins by Orton, Rhodes, Sheamus, Jericho, Undertaker and Cena, but could see The Rock win with a run-in-assisted finish.  Team Johnny should win, and I'm guessing Maria Menounos pins someone because she's on some television show.

Should be fun.

Wrestling has changed way to much for me to like it anymore. I am a big Bret Hart fan and love the old mat wrestling style that him and dudes like Mr.Perfect used to put on. Now is all high impact moves. Everyone has to go through their "moves". I think that started with the Rock elbow. I check in now and again to see whats going on but everyone looks the the same and the wrestling is "meh". I feel the biz lost its soul. Jona Cena is the worst thing I have ever seen. I could go on  but I hope you fans who still love it enjoy WM. I miss the old days.

The Best there is. The Best there was and the best there ever will be.

I watch fairly regularly with my kids. We order WrestleMania every year. Undertaker - HHH was the best match I have seen in a long time. Glad the Rock is back - he makes it better.

I know they definitely can't turn Cena heel, I'd just like to see it. I thought Cena would take this one, but I was definitely rooting for Rock. Takes me back to my childhood and watching Rock-Austin. That's why I loved the Taker-HHH match. Two legends battling for the final time, it was epic.

Because without guys like The Rock, Stone Cold, Triple H etc. There would be no Wrestlemania, we would be watching WCW Starrcade. Without those guys, WCW would have continued to jailsex WWF in the TV ratings and would have bought them out.

A way to pay respect to the guys that saved Vince's ass. Cena will have plenty more wins, let the older guys go out their way.

Damn it I wanted to see Brock.

The Rock wins, I can finally close the book of my wrestling watching career now that HHH and Taker are most likely going to retire and Dwayne is obviously done. Not that I watched it on a consistent basis anyways. I was really turned away when they changed the product to PG, it lost it's edge that made me look forward to watching. I usually popped back in around this time of year ever since that happened and eventually left.

I've heard SPECULATION that Michigan Stadium is being looked at for the host of Wrestlemania 30 in two years.

If you fill it to capacity, you could most likely get 125-130,000 people in there because there would be pleanty of seats on the floor (field). Only setback is an April in Michigan. But hey, if the one next year is going to be in New York OUTDOORS in April, why not?

want Brock vs Rock at next wrestlemania. and HHH vs HBK at next wrestlemania.  This obviously a long ways away, but these are the early plans.  They also want Rock to have a match every four months, He's already booked at summerslam in August.

Taker vs hhh match. I felt like I was 12 years old again for that one. Got to see wm27 live in person last year for their other epic match. Maybe I will make the trip to new jersey for 29 next year

Cena certainly is a good sport.  He had to job cleanly to someone who hasn't been in the business for ten years and has acted just like he always does.  He hasn't even bitched on twitter yet, either.

I am guessing Cena continues to be a "good soldier."  I am also guessing he gets another championship run soon.

Great matches, plenty of surprises.

Personally, I think Jericho and Cena should have one. Jericho comes back, the storyline is built up for a long time but he doesnt win. His comeback isn't really good so far. And The Rock winning...he better stay and wrestle every once in awhile otherwise if he just leaves again, it wont be good for the company.

Again, it was great! But it wasn't better than Wrestlemania 23 in Detroit! Best event I ever went to!
