OT - Worst QB Performances of All-Time

Alex Zordich went 4-22 with 2 INTs tonight for Buffalo.  It got me wondering, what are some of the worst college QB performances in the history of the game or that you can remember?

But since all of the informative threads have been deleted, I was wondering where I would catch the game in Saturday.

That d-line is the same one that got smoked by App State and Oregon.  And Wisconsin later in the year.

ND was the absolute worst offense in the country statistically that year and went 3-9.  Let's actually remember shit if we are going to be nostalgic.

Clausen getting simultaneously sacked by all 4 defenders is still one of the funniest football plays I've ever seen. Just a perfect picture of ineptitude of an ovverrated opponent lining up against a legit football team. It's so good it should be a gif.

To add to ChopBlock's post above:

- Clausen was 11-17 for 74 yards passing and 0 TDs with 1 INT.

- Evan Sharpley was 2-5 for 11 yards with 0 TDs and 1 INT.

- Clausen had 9 carries (if they could be called that) for -65 rushing yards.

but I think back in 2006 or 2007, the QB for Mississippi State threw 6 picks in their opener that year.  I also want to say he got sacked a bunch of times and completed like a 1/3 of his passes for hardly any yards.  I don't remember much about it, except that it was bad enough for me to remember a stat line from a game from a long time ago, by a team I care nothing about.

Besides that, Ty Detmer's 7 int. game is hands down the worst QB performance I've ever seen.

If you're too young to remember the 1987 Michigan-Michigan State game, consider yourself fortunate.

If you'd like the ultimate dong punch, google it. But I warned you.

...partial games I've ever seen was the 2007 UCLA-ND game when McLeod Bethel-Thompson threw 4 picks and gave up a fumble in three disastrous quarters.  He was a true freshman that practically had the clipboard ripped out of his hands when UCLA's starter was injured.

I spent the whole game cringing and hoping he wouldn't be seriously injured, but there's a bright side: Dude survived and is currently on the Vikings roster.

As a matter of fact I like beer.

Common now....did you see the Bengals game last week?  Both Weedon & Richardson looked fantastic in that one.

But, because the Cleveland Browns are bound by the arrangement they made in 1998 when they were granted an exansion franchise, they must suck on one side of the ball or the other, so the defense collapsed.

I'll be there Sunday watching them play the Bills.  And my expectation is that Special Teams will do something stupid and cost them the game so that they can feel like they contributed to the mounting Browns legacy of defeat.

The first half of the 2001 Ohio game.  In that half, John Navarre may have had more turnovers than completions, or at least it felt like it.  And then he was pulled for our final drive before halftime for Jermaine Gonzales, who was still looking at the sideline while the shotgun snap sailed past him for a safety.  We were a heavy favorite, looking to clinch the Big Ten title, and then found ourselves trailing 23-0 at halftime.

To me, this was the real "Horror" game.  That first half was shockingly bad and we couldn't recover.  (Big John, to his credit, played a lot better in the second half, but we'd dug too big a hole.)  It started the stretch of futility against Tressel, and I felt like our program didn't fully recover for the rest of the Carr era.

True - I remember that one.  If he'd caught that pass, that game could have been the biggest comeback in school history and maybe we go on to do better against Tressel thereafter.  Oh well.

Vinny Testaverde threw 5 INTs and no TDs during the 1987 Fiesta Bowl, which was to decide the winner of the 1986 National Championship. Miami out gained Penn State on the field, 445 yards to 162, with 22 first downs compared to the Nittany Lions 8, but still lost the game. That's probably the worst combo of "terrible performance+in a big game" I can think of.
