This question was discussed on the DP show today... Any thoughts on yes or no?

Do the Cardinals need to win Game 7 to validate Game 6 as an all-time classic?

I personally think they have to win to make it one of the great classics/ greatest comebacks for the game and series.

I don't think so. Carlton Fisk's HR is still considered one of the most memorable of all time. But it was only Game 6 and the Reds beat the Red Sox in Game 7 to win the series. I think people will remember this game for a while.

Yes, yes, and yes. And that sweatshirt is outstanding. I'd wear that in a heartbeat to a game 7 Cardinals game. Sometimes you have to go all out, but wearing a jersey at my age is....no. Nor is a cape. So Bud Heavy sweater/sweatshirt? The King? Of course.

The Rangers are dangerously close to giving this one to the Cardinals....

EDIT: Getting close to epic Rangers pitching meltdown (never thought I would use the words "epic" and "Rangers" in a sentence in my lifetime).

They keep talking about Rhodes son who died from an "undisclosed illness". It drives my curiosity through the ceiling. Did they not know what was wrong with him, or are they just not revealing it.

I think I have now hear 3 "un-fuckin-beleivable"s from the on-field cameras.

Last night I was saying that I liked Fox's broadcasts of baseball (as much as I despised Fos doing college football).  Now, I am afraid that we are going to have to hear Fox's on-field guy, Ken Rosenthal, who is so incompetent, he makes Jim Gray look good.

You shut your mouth. Gerald Laird's existence in a major league uniform is, by itself, awesome. If the Cardinals are 90's R and B, he's like another Gerald: Gerald Levert. Or maybe he just reminds me of Gerald Levert in 2011. Whatever. World Champs.

Wow.  How far has baseball fallen when game 7 of the World Series has 22 posts, which is approximately the same amount as the number of THREADS on the first page for Bacon's new book.  That being said, how is the book?

you're on a Michigan Football message board. Most of us here are Tigers fans. If everyone here is anything else like me, I like watching, but not really discussing, other teams as much.

That being said, what an amazing World Series by St. Louis. From the 10.5 games back of the wildcard in August, to beating the vaunted Phils in a decisive road game, to the amazing historical Game 6 comeback two nights ago, to World Series Champs. Amazing.

I can't wait until 2012. Our Tigers have a loaded team and we should make another run at a title next year!
