After coming back to work after going home for the game, I am still too amped to get anything done today.  But, who cares?!  After a whole game of almosts (and should have beens) that was just an incredible ending.  Can't believe I have to stay at work for another 5 hours.

I was rounding and stopped outside a pts room who was watching it.  I just stood there for the remaining 20 minutes of game time.  After the US scored, I raised my arms with a muffled yelp while hearing people cheer all down the hallway.  A nurse I know saw me and frantically ran over yelling "Did they score!?  Did they score!?"  While explaining what happened to her, I saw a nurse aid hugging someone from PT.  This is what makes the World Cup awesome.

Staff and patients alike excited and cheering, and many of our patients are very sick too. My eyes were teary, I was half embarrased over how proud I felt -trying to remain professional but wanting to jump around like a screaming banshee- trying not to do anything to alarm our patients, but that was a great moment. You're right, this is what makes World Cup very special.

I wish I could have seen this at home!! Gamecast just doesn't do it justice!! This is why I love soccer.......every four years for a few weeks.

That was quite an anxious ride, and it is nice that the USA could win, especially considering the fact the officials questionably disallowed another goal early. How did Altidore miss so badly?

I know you're just being an instigator, but it drives me nuts when people say stuff like that seriously. 99% of the country has never worked half as hard as the USMNT in anything.... working hard leads to emotions, period.  Sitting on couches, crushing beers in between rounds of Halo on XBox, and calling grown men babies, um, doesn't.

EW ES A!

I think I have the coolest boss in the world. He hooked up a giant tv at the end of the hall for all of these games. Actually, I know I do.

I would like to point out that Algeria needed to win by two goals to advance.

They spent the entire second half playing defense.

Talk about karma saying "f*** you" to Algeria for playing the "we probably won't win, so let's F over the U.S." card.
