OT: Winter Classic Seating

Submitted by RakeFight on

I'm looking at tickets for the Wings vs. Leafs game at the Big House, and am wondering how the row numbering may differ from football games, if at all.

Do they add rows to the front so seats go right up to the glass?  The one seating chart I could find has cheaper tickets in the low rows which makes me think it's because there's a fair number of added flatter-angle rows.  The chart doesn't include row numbers.

Anyone who went before have any insight?  I'm looking at row 40... thinkg that should be high enough and close enough for a good view?

I'm in row 90 something, throw back to my freshman seats. I watched the Big Chill from row 40 something in an endzone and I could see most of the action, just near board battles were hard, but with the new giant scoreboards it should be just fine.

Section 9 Row 66 - I should be able to see the play go up and down the ice.

When I went to the Big Chill I was in row 70. Regular old same row 70 as for football games. I don't think anything changes but I don't know for sure.

I agree. Row 40 should be high enough. I'm in Section 11 Row 56 so you'll have me beat. If I remember the Big Chill correctly seating didn't change and I don't think there were any seats on the field at all.

Plenty of leg room, but not recommended.  I got to watch more of the on-field activity (Michigan Band, zamboni machine cleaning, etc. than the game).  The video boards help tremendously.
