RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least the Wings didn't score on the PP from Bertuzzi's Sharksian dive.

Mule is nowhere near himself right now.

I didn't even get to see San Jose's 3rd goal. Wife sent me on an errand and said she'd record it, but didn't set to record after stop time, so I went right from up 3-2 with 4:50 to go, to the beginning of overtime.

Fuck San Jose, and their undeserving still so new to hockey they still think chanting the goalie's last name is clever fans, and their cheap ass goals, and their cheap ass play, and the stupid faces they make when they're trying to draw penalties.

0-3. Fuck.

They need to make some moves this offseason. Not saying blow them up, just some guys need to be moved out and some others brought in. The Wings looked great for 2 periods and the wheels fell off in the 3rd.

tbh you could see that goal coming. The Wings had more possession but they weren't doing anything with it. Even the power play couldn't get anything going in OT. They looked beat.

Need more youth in the squad. Zetterberg and Datsyuk are guys you build a powerful young team around. Not Kris Draper and Bertuzzi, Modano, etc. Franzen and Holmstrom aren't getting any younger either.

Barring a miracle that makes it impossible, I think you've got to start looking at what you can get for a Pavel or a Franzen while they're still extremely valuable.

Right now they look like a team that is stuck while some of the younger teams have caught up.

I love Pavel like everyone else does.  I'm not saying dump guys, I'm saying get quality while we can.  If you hold on to guys too long you find yourself in trouble, especially when you have a hard salary cap.  It's time to start acting like the Patriots.  Pick a couple no trade guys, and see what you can get for everyone else.  You want to keep Pav?  Fine. Put Mule on the market.  Hank's not going anywhere because he's the next captain, but we need to get younger while we still can.

Yeah you definitely don't trade Datsyuk. You aren't going to get someone better than him. Maybe if you could get the Sedin brothers? Even then you'd be trading the best player in the league. Some moves definitely need to be made, though.

who won't against San Jose. The Sharks have had Howards number the past two years, always scoring the right number of goals just when they need them. Not more more to it than that. The Wing's have played toe to toe with San Jose for 7 straight playoff games. Player-wise, Detroit is easily top 3 in the league.

We're the older team, when that's the case it's not playing toe to toe, it's being one step behind.

What kind of package would it take to go after Miller?  Buffalo seems to be stuck in place too.  Franzen and a pick or two?  Franzen and Kronwall (who would rather make a big hit than clear the puck)?

WAS IT OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR?

FUCK THE SHARKS

The Wings will come back on fire next game, and finally make Niemi pay for all the huge rebounds he is giving.

I know coming back from 3-0 is a steep, steep mountain, but Niemi is just the sieve to do it against.

GO WINGS!

Did you watch this series?

Howard kept us in this series for the first two games... literally.

"Choking down the stretch"? This is ABSURD. Jimmy Howard was not only one of the Wings' top players of this series, but he was BY FAR the best player of this series for the Wings. If you think otherwise, you weren't watching.

We must be at like 30% on winning pucks on the boards in this series.  Thats what drives me nuts, put some effing muscle behind you and get the GD puck.

If Franzen was 100% it would be a different story in this series but watching him skate out there you can tell he is banged up.

All we can do is take it one game at a time, if any team can rattle off 4 wins its the Wings but whatever happens I would like to see a couple changes with defensemen on this team in the off season. (not including Lidstrom)

Also, WTF HUDLER

Last year's shitty series was somewhat naively written off to bad officiating and injuries.  There's no sugar coating this one.  There have to be some moves made in the off season.  We need to have a legitimate second scoring line without splitting up Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

I was at the game last night, and as a casual hockey fan I still noticed that there were SO MANY rebound opportunities for the Sharks. Howard seemed to give San Jose a 2-for-1 special anytime they took a shot. What a disappointing game.
