Let's go Wings we MUST have this one.
Does anyone have a link to a feed as I am stuck in a hotel in Des Moines? Thanks in advance!
On a related note, www.myp2p.eu is amazing! You can find a stream to any game you want to see -- I use it all the time for Buffalo Sabres games, UEFA Champions League games, India vs Pakistan cricket, ANYTHING! It really is just an aggregation of a lot of streams, but nonetheless is highly recommended.
Plus pretend 1.
I was all excited to rake in my MGoPoints, too...
And STAY OUT OF THE BOX!
Good to see Drapes in, he played with a TON of energy in the first round and I see him keeping it up. I was expecting Babs to be brining in Mikey Mo tonight as well for either Eaves or Miller...why sign the guy for the year if were not playing him? This is what we picked him up for....
If Modano hadn't missed so much time being out with a severed wrist tendon, he might be playing. But with the other guys playing pretty well, it's hard for him to crack the lineup.
I've been waiting for someone to create this thread all day so I could find a feed. Mgoblog saves the day.
I'm not surprised Versus/NBC jipped us in favor of the Caps, but I can't believe CBC is playing Boston-Philly over Detroit considering Windsor has a ton of Red Wings fans.
And what the hell is with TB / WAS playing two nights in a row?
I was thinking that the NHL wanted to potentially get game 5 and 6 of that series on Friday and Sunday for prime time... but game 6 is scheduled for Monday, so I have no idea what they're thinking.
Playing back to back is almost an advantage for younger teams, it seems. I remember they made the Wings play back to back nights during the '09 Cup finals. I was pissed because that obviously favored the younger (and healthier at the time) Penguins.
I remember being pissed about that too. Another in a long line of weird NHL decisions. Oh well, guess I'm streaming until versus joins IN PROGRESS
Any comments from those that said Caps path out of the East was clear?
today is a must win. but also it would be nice to see the red wings as the 5th team to ever come back from a 3-0 deficit
I'd rather win 4 in a row starting now.
to the Wings!
boys are playing well out of the gate. it seems like the line changes and change of scenery has helped. hopefully we can keep the pedal down from here on out.
also, i love pavel dishing out the hits to clowe. that's how you get under someone's skin, not by hacking, slashing, and cross-checking like a dirty cunt.
to be coming out the gate playing alot stronger tonight. In other good news the Tigers are also beating the Yanks.
but I don't like Niemi starting off hot. An early girl would be nice
i love early girls.
Dany Heatley just got Kronwalled!
when Kronwall lays the boom on somebody, but I am the only one who thinks he could be called for charging on some of them. He seems to leave his feet on some of his big hits, not like they call charging anymore though.
with the high sticks every game-----!
Keep the stick down says Mick.
for that good start out of the gates.
Need next one BAD!
will stand on the blue line and chop at everything
That's what happens when a tap to the face causes the other player to scream in agony and curl into the fetal position on the ice until the whistle gets blown.
coverting on some of these chances, doesn't help that Niemi has come out on fire.
annoyed by that as well. They are taking forever to drop the puck to stop cheating on faceoffs and still allowing Thornton to get away with that crap.
I'm streaming the game, but it looked like that stick hit the guy in the chest, not the face.
They dive more than real sharks.
Subtle. I like it.
for Howard these last games would have been blow-outs
Agreed. Regardless if we make this a series or not, Howard's progress is GREAT for the future of the Red Wings. I'll admit I questioned if he could be a Stanley Cup goalie at first, but I think he's proven his value and then some in this series. If there's nothing else we can take away from this series, it's great to see Howard playing this outstanding.
DROP THE FUCKING PUCK!
Oh thank God
Also: NIIIICE assist
You can't because the footage will never be seen due to VS blackout
Hell yea! Love it when a 41 year old defenseman is leading the team in goals for the series haha. Only Nick...
else watching on a feed?
I live in Tampa and they have the lighting on 2 stations and womens softball Texas vs Texas AM on Fox Sports Detroit?
came up huge though.
Datsyuk has to nail that feed
Great job by Helm to take that puck and bring it out front.
He's quietly having a hell of a game.
the DAMN whistle - this is petty crap
looking penalty. Come on let em play a little bit.
thank god for internet streams.
i love getting to SEE the wings score.
ps. F.U. versus. Show me the red wings.
nice i can finally breathe again. I hate the sharks almost as much as i hate pittsburgh.
I shoot the puck harder than that.
I hate refs I hate refs I hate refs I hate refs I hate refs I hate refs I hate refs
they score on that weak penalty. Fluke goal at that. In defense of Howard, he was anticpating a shot to the far post and that looked like where he was aiming. That flub created a change-up of sorts.
Wings on Versus now if you want your heart attack in HD
Bonus: it's the TSN feed
I couldn't agree more, but I still prefer the game on my tv over a feed.
Now if we can manage to not get called for a penalty before the period is over
Tigers beat Yankees 4-0. Max Scherzer 8.0 innings, 4 hits, 9 Ks, 0 ERs. Alburquerque pitched the 9th, struck out two.
Detroit sports, than last weekend was. Tigers took two of three from the Yanks, now let's see a Wings win
STAY OUT OF THE GODDAMN BOX
the tampa bay lightning sweep the caps? awesome. i hate ovechkin.
come on 20 min we can do this. but how about tampa. they are my new favorite team in the east.
and in a couple years he will be ready to step in and take hollands place
Hudler needs to play better... God hes gotta get a fire under his ass
Didn't we just discuss STAYING OUT OF THE GODDAMN BOX?
We need 3 or 4 more Darren Helms
Salai has been a nice surprise. Very effective all playoffs and few mistakes. Now let's get another goal boys!
ugh noo we had this game
very nervous. basically sudden death now.
I would love to see Franzen get the winner.
OT. Time for videogames.
bad feeling about this. Sharks are undefeated in OT in these playoffs.
I believe they're also 6-0 against us in the last 2 playoffs in one goal games, which this game is guaranteed to be
damn this blows. we badly needed this.
i dont think anybody feels good during overtime periods.
on a positive note, the wings do look a ton better to me this game. the first two they looked unorganized and didn't have good puck possession. tonight they are at least controling the game at times and getting good chances.
Agreed. They have definitely took it stronger to the net tonight forcing SJ deeper into their zone. Wings deserved to lose the first two but IMO probably deserved to win this one. Unfortunately, they don't cash in on a handful of good scoring chances in OT and one slight deflection and it's 0-3. Ugh.
Too many good chances with no goal.
fear the counter charge
love the charge
Finally. LETS GOOOO
C'mon, Wings, get that PPG!!!
Or score later! ...but please score first...
interesting penalty call, but who cares. wings must take advantage.
I don't have a rooting interest in the game but fcuk, that was aboot the worst call ever...on par with the Nashville call last night.
Gotta end this game right now.
Wings wasting too many chances.
at least the wings are getting chances. keep up the pressure and hopefully something good will happen.
EDIT: damn. nevermind.
You gotta be fucking kidding me! Son of a bitch!!!
I am going to kill someone.
It deflected off Zetterberg's stick.
stick the fork in them. Sorry Wings fans; after watching this team three games in a row that's a regular season team not a playoff team. The talent disparity between Thornton and every other player on the ice tonight was that substantial.
the talent disparity between thornton and ericsson on that last play was substantial. that's it.
I'm not invested in this thing but it sure looked to me like Thornton was dominant in that overtime (i.e., it was Thornton who blocked a shot on the Wings OT powerplay and gained possession/cleared it off the wall later in that same shift when the Wings had it deep). It was Thornton who thoroughly humiliated Ericsson on that last play...oh, and he set up all three of Setoguchi's goals. Easily the best player on the ice. In watching that game I am puzzled by the Wing's lack of intensity excepting Zetterberg/Datsyuk who looked great.
OT you were watching . The Wings had almost of all the scoring chances. Nobody on the Sharks was dominant in overtime. That goal might have been the first scoring chance they had in OT.
You shouldn't come in at the end of a game thread and tell all the fans that their favorite team was outplayed. I know you're trying to stir discussion or whatever, but it's just too soon.
Its just hockey up here; I don't feel your pain but I get it.
looked like two pretty evenly matched up teams. The Wings had the majority of the scoring chances in OT, unfortunately the Sharks got a lucky deflection off a d-men's stick. Sometimes that is the way the puck bounces.
sometimes that's the way the puck bounces? I haven't seen a puck bounce for Detroit since this series started.
this series even more frustrating, even though the Sharks did play better in games 1 and 2. Thought the Wings played better than the Sharks tonight, but unfortunately the scoreboard is what matters.
Sorry, Thorton was not better than Pavs tonight. Pavel was everywhere and was unlucky several times as well. Thorton did have a very good game, I will agree.
Your from canada this doesnt surprise me you say this. Every quality player on San Jose is canaidan. minus Pavelski. Canaidan hockey fans have such a huge bias toward their own players its un real. I hate people from canada esp. hockey players nothing is more enjoyable than beating a hockey team from canada and watch them "try" and send a message it's precious.
how the one-time best defensive team in hockey and just about highest scoring team in the regular season looks listless in the postseason.
When they were scored on first on the powerplay, I figured this is how it would end. What the hell? How hard is it on the penalty kill to not let a guy stand at the corner of the net and ignore him?
look listless tonight. They played alot better than the first two games. Thought they played better than the Sharks for a good portion of the game, Niemmi made alot of saves to keep SJ in the game and in OT though.
It is just so frustrating that they keep coming up on the wrong side of one goal games against SJ.
son of a bitch
between the Wings teams that won playoff series a couple years back, and the Wings of this years and last years playoffs is simple. The Wings are playing not to lose. Both the OT games Detrroit had the lead in the 3rd and was content to continually give up the puck deep and then chase it around the rink. What happened to keeping the damn thing?
At least the Wings didn't score on the PP from Bertuzzi's Sharksian dive.
Mule is nowhere near himself right now.
I didn't even get to see San Jose's 3rd goal. Wife sent me on an errand and said she'd record it, but didn't set to record after stop time, so I went right from up 3-2 with 4:50 to go, to the beginning of overtime.
Fuck San Jose, and their undeserving still so new to hockey they still think chanting the goalie's last name is clever fans, and their cheap ass goals, and their cheap ass play, and the stupid faces they make when they're trying to draw penalties.
We blew coverage watching the puck instead of the teal divers, and the pass went from the right endboards all the way through 5 dudes to the left circle, was almost shot too high, but hit somewhere on Howard's left ulna and deflected in.
I agree with all your sentiments. Fuck 'em.
They need to make some moves this offseason. Not saying blow them up, just some guys need to be moved out and some others brought in. The Wings looked great for 2 periods and the wheels fell off in the 3rd.
Going to go throw up now
tbh you could see that goal coming. The Wings had more possession but they weren't doing anything with it. Even the power play couldn't get anything going in OT. They looked beat.
some pretty good chances in OT. There were at least 5 or 6 that I counted. The issue was that they couldn't find a way to get one of those in, but they did generate good chances in OT.
Thornton just had a really goot OT. I was scared every time he got the puck
Who am I kidding I was scared the entire time it's playoff OT hockey.
Need more youth in the squad. Zetterberg and Datsyuk are guys you build a powerful young team around. Not Kris Draper and Bertuzzi, Modano, etc. Franzen and Holmstrom aren't getting any younger either.
Barring a miracle that makes it impossible, I think you've got to start looking at what you can get for a Pavel or a Franzen while they're still extremely valuable.
Right now they look like a team that is stuck while some of the younger teams have caught up.
Just no. You shall not ever speak of trading Pavel. You don't trade one of the top 5 players in the game.
I love Pavel like everyone else does. I'm not saying dump guys, I'm saying get quality while we can. If you hold on to guys too long you find yourself in trouble, especially when you have a hard salary cap. It's time to start acting like the Patriots. Pick a couple no trade guys, and see what you can get for everyone else. You want to keep Pav? Fine. Put Mule on the market. Hank's not going anywhere because he's the next captain, but we need to get younger while we still can.
well miracles are possible part of me wants believe that the wings can do it but idk they cant catch a break.
When you lose three one goal games and two of those in OT...it is still very unlikely, but hey it could happen
Yeah you definitely don't trade Datsyuk. You aren't going to get someone better than him. Maybe if you could get the Sedin brothers? Even then you'd be trading the best player in the league. Some moves definitely need to be made, though.
who won't against San Jose. The Sharks have had Howards number the past two years, always scoring the right number of goals just when they need them. Not more more to it than that. The Wing's have played toe to toe with San Jose for 7 straight playoff games. Player-wise, Detroit is easily top 3 in the league.
We're the older team, when that's the case it's not playing toe to toe, it's being one step behind.
What kind of package would it take to go after Miller? Buffalo seems to be stuck in place too. Franzen and a pick or two? Franzen and Kronwall (who would rather make a big hit than clear the puck)?
It is like the same series as last year and I am unhappy about it
the exact same game 3 loss in OT. I did think games 1 and 2 were a little more even though last year in terms of chances, than game 1 and 2 in this series.
WAS IT OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR?
FUCK THE SHARKS
The Wings will come back on fire next game, and finally make Niemi pay for all the huge rebounds he is giving.
I know coming back from 3-0 is a steep, steep mountain, but Niemi is just the sieve to do it against.
Niemi hasn't let in goals when he can't afford to. Howard, on the other hand... let's in wayyyy to many softies in the clutch. Only way the Wings win this one, or ANY future playoff series beyond the first round, is if Howard stops choking down the stretch. That second goal was a joke...
Did you watch this series?
Howard kept us in this series for the first two games... literally.
"Choking down the stretch"? This is ABSURD. Jimmy Howard was not only one of the Wings' top players of this series, but he was BY FAR the best player of this series for the Wings. If you think otherwise, you weren't watching.
We must be at like 30% on winning pucks on the boards in this series. Thats what drives me nuts, put some effing muscle behind you and get the GD puck.
If Franzen was 100% it would be a different story in this series but watching him skate out there you can tell he is banged up.
All we can do is take it one game at a time, if any team can rattle off 4 wins its the Wings but whatever happens I would like to see a couple changes with defensemen on this team in the off season. (not including Lidstrom)
Also, WTF HUDLER
Last year's shitty series was somewhat naively written off to bad officiating and injuries. There's no sugar coating this one. There have to be some moves made in the off season. We need to have a legitimate second scoring line without splitting up Datsyuk and Zetterberg.
I was at the game last night, and as a casual hockey fan I still noticed that there were SO MANY rebound opportunities for the Sharks. Howard seemed to give San Jose a 2-for-1 special anytime they took a shot. What a disappointing game.
What also pisses me off is that they tied and won the game on the same dumb shit breakdown....watching the puck instead of finding a man....still so heated right now.
