Hawks fighting for their playoff lives..

Has been a great first, hard hitting and fast paced.

Bertuzzi out with a major. 2-1 Hawks

piece of shit wrapped up in black and red feathers.

It was a gift.

There were multiple missed calls against the Hawks and they called that crap on Zetterburg. It was uneven officiating in the third, and I would hope any impartial fan would admit it. Holmstrom was tripped on that breakaway pass from Lidstrom and Z was tripped in the corner and there was no call.

And that was a weak call against Z at the end.

Watch it again, and tell me how that was quality officiating.

Yep.  I love the non-call on the interference when Z has the puck about 2 minutes earlier on a potential 2 on 1 and then to make that very questionable call at the end of a tie game.  Just cries out "we are determining the game."

And don't get me started on the Holmer breakaway non-call.  Maybe a penalty shot, maybe not but how in the world do you at least not call a penalty?  One of the worst non-calls I have seen.  It's a breakaway, are the refs not watching?

And the non-call on the punch to Eaves.  I could see letting that go but only if you are in a "let the players decide the game" role, in which case you can't call that penalty on Z.

That said, Hawks played a great game and probably deserved the two points but c'mon those calls were terrible.

The Homer breakaway and Eaves punch were blatant calls that the refs have to make at any point in the game.

The interference on Z was certainly a penalty, but one I don't mind the refs not calling near the end of the game if they want the players to decide it.  However, the refs subsequently calling the penalty against Z made the earlier non-call absolutely atrocious.

Where are you in NC, btw?  I'm in Raleigh.
