Let take this one and get a lead in the series!
landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
the websop stream is solid as always.
Edit = The Veetle links are usually the best.
Lets Go Wings!
It's Phoenix. And a hockey rink. In Phoenix.
I'm shocked the NHL didn't have to hand out tickets for free just to fill the place up.
For the free AC alone.
As Michigan has lost population in waves over the past 2 decades, those people had to end up somewhere, and Phoenix was a place that attracted a lot of Michiganders.
You mean that one series in 97-98? They might have had more fans back then because it was just their second year in the city and their population could've been drawn to the new hotness.

Got so caught up in the Draft, I lost track of the time.
Howard looking sharp.
GOLASSO GOLASSO GOLASSO
that guy is a douche
Fiddler's a bitch
Grumble results based intent to injure rules.
That should have been five and the game.
Let's see if we can put together a solid additional 40 minutes now.
and the tigers just tied it up in the top of the ninth with 2 outs.
Forgot to turn the game back to MLBN at the end of the period.
w/in the wings thread, just in between periods. Ni walks way too many hitters.
They just intentionally walked Ryan Garko, a below average hitter...take out Ni, bring in Perry and as anyone with half a brain would do, Washington brings in Cruz who has arguably been the best hitter in baseball so far this year. If they lose in Cruz's at-bat, Leyland will look stupid.
Edit: He walked. Seriously, what a stupid fucking move. Now you have Perry trying to get out of a bases loaded jam totally created by the manager. Unbelievable.
goddamnit - outside of valverde and zumaya, our relief pitching is ass.
I think our relief staff has been solid this year. That first walk with no outs from Ni really hurt us that inning.
You can't put that on Perry at all. That was totally Leyland. There's no way you should take Ni out in that situation when he's facing a guy that can't hit a lick, but not only did they do that, they intentionally walked him. It's just one game, but that intentional walk was arguably the dumbest thing I have seen in a long time....then you expect Perry to face a monster like Cruz? I'll stop before I go on a longer rant; let's just say that was Zambrano-to-the-bullpen level moronic.
that was a dogshit play. fucking jovo stepped on howard.
Half the goals scored this post season have been dogshit. They're letting the payers beat the hell out of each other this year. Unless it's Hank Zetterberg, Jesus.
i understand garbage goals. its how you come by goals in the playoffs.
but you cant fucking step on the goalie before he can make the save.
It was an illegal goal, and shouldn't have counted. But I've seen quite a few this postseason.
days, the NHL is going to have good, consistent officiating that is also consistent to the rules and everybody is going to be shocked and there are going to be many more fans. In the 11 seconds that are left before the world implodes, that is.
the NHL with good consistent unbiased officiating.
and im a vegan buckeye who hates beer.
I hate Bettman at least as much as the next guy, but even I'm not going to go so far as to say officiating is biased without far more proof than a bunch of crappy calls in a sport where there are many, many, many crappy calls. Especially when I'm biased one way and the calls are generally pretty subjective.
So, the NHL is 1/3 of the way there. Unfortunately, that's a crappy percentage even by U-M orgo/engineering/intro physics standards...
it's way better than the NBA.
That league is an absolute joke when it comes to officiating. Which is a big reason why I almost never watch hoops any more.
bullpen ERA in either the AL or the whole MLB I believe I heard Mario and Rod say tonight. Our bullpen has been saving our starters asses the whole season. Our starters have had trouble getting into the 6th inning so far this year.
I am excited for what Austin Jackson can become in the future. Yes, he strikes out ALOT, but he covers so much ground in the outfield and he is hitting in the .300's so far.
Another reason why you keep the game in their hands and stop trying to overmanage. Perry, Zumaya and Valverde have been excellent so far, but it's hard to be excellent when your manager puts you in a shitty position like Perry was put into.
This game is going right now. We need to turn this thing around.
if i didnt know better, id think nick lidstrom was canadian, just from his accent. classic. im really gonna miss him when he retires. my favorite Wing since i was 10.
I do so love when the Wings just take a period off.
Saved one there.
Game saver, thus far.
NEVER a good sign.
we haven't been able to clear the zone for shit this series
Nice penalty kill, Jimmy Howard is keeping us in this game.
Where's 500th when you need him?
Way to many scoring chances.
Sit down Hanzel
What a beauty! Top cheddar
Scoooooooorrrrrrrres! Pavel Datsyuk!
That a boy Pavel!!
lol this board beat my stream.
Ding fries are done.
Speed kills! Helmer almost had one.
OK, let's finish 'em off on Sunday.
That does it. Goin back to the joe with a chance to seal it. Way to go boys
Where are those cries now that he's given up one stepped on goal the last 2 games?
Fans are such...fans.
I love the guy but i don't think i have understood one word he has said in this post game interview.
I trust Dr. Rahmani -- they make eyes good.
I just got back from the game tonight -- it was fantastic. A couple thoughts:
1. Howard's two saves on Hanzal's breakaway were HUGE. The game could've gone the opposite direction if the Coyotes score there. Howard absolutely deserved the first star.
2. Good turnout by the Wings fans. There weren't many in Game 1 (probably because tickets went on sale super early, before we knew the Wings would be playing the Coyotes), but as the series has gone on, the casual fans in Phoenix just don't have the interest in hockey to stay psyched about the series.
3. Despite that, I think the Wings need to wrap it up in Game 6. The Coyotes do have a good (albeit relatively small) core of die-hard fans that would get Jobing.com Arena rocking pretty good for a Game 7, and the thought of a road Game 7 is terrifying under any circumstances.
4. Pavel and Hank are awesome. That is all.
Is it time to change goalies yet?
Looks like you have the desert fox retreating for the time being! Beautiful top shelfer by Datsyuk! He his the most dangerous guy to have around the net. Let's see if you can end it in Detroit because right now teams that are facing elmination aren't going away so quietly.
