OT: Wimbledon Semis

Submitted by goblueram on

Roger Federer is back in the Wimbledon final after beating Novak Djokovic 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The second semifinal today is the brit Andy Murray vs. Jo Wilfried Tsonga.  Obviously the crowd will be rooting strongly for their countryman Murray, but he tends to choke in these situations.

Amazingly, Federer can regain the number 1 ranking by winning the tournament, a feat which not many thought possible at this stage in his career.

Come on Roger!

This is Murray's 4th straight Wimbledon semifinal appearances. The last two he lost to Nadal (who can blame him) and in 2009 he lost to Andy Roddick (can only blame yourself on that one). Let's see if he can get over the hump and get to the finals, where he would face Federer, to whom he has lost 2 Grand Slame Finals to. An Englishmen hasn't even appeared in the Wimbledon Finals since before WWII !!!! Alot of demons that Murray could exorcise today.

Ivo Karlovic broke that record at 156 MPH.   But it also looks like some young dude served in the 160s just this year.  That is wild.

If Federer wins the final and regains the #1 ranking at his age it would be pretty damn remarkable, especially considering Nadal and Djokovic are going to also go down as greats.

I don't think Roger should be the number one if he wins Wimbledon, but he just might be simply because Nadal (who won Rolland Garros) shockingly lost in the second round of Wimbledon. Either way, Novak will not be the number one player any longer until he wins a few smaller tournaments or the U.S. Open in August.
