OT: Who Ya Got for the NBA Finals?
We got 2 Rookie head coaches, Lebron's redemption story and the Splash Bros featuring Riley Curry.
This is actually an interesting match up b/c this series seems pretty wide open to me. I would think the Warriors would win due to their depth, but Lebron n co have been playing on another level since Love went down.
Seeing MGrowOld not be a miserable Cleveland sports fan for once on this board would be quite refreshing too...
And then we got the gif representing what happened to James Harden last game after he set the NBA record for most turnovers in a postseason game at 13.
The Based God/Lil B curse is real folks.
Draymond Green vs LBJ will be the key matchup, if he can slow down LBJ, I believe the Warriors will have a good chance of winning it.

Did anyone think Draymond Green was gonna blow up the way he did in the NBA? Dude is going to make a lot of dough this upcoming year in FA.
Hated him as a player in college obviously, but love the hussle and energy he plays with in the NBA.
I'd love to see him in a Pistons uniform. He's the only Spartan that I would say that about.
I'm not sure how much we'll even see of that match-up. If Draymond goes against LBJ from the tip, that leaves Harrison Barnes to try and box out Thompson on the offensive glass. This would not be a good idea for the Warriors.

We thuggin', we theivin', we put it in deep.
With a healthy Kyrie the Cavs could win. So many shooters for a GS team that rolls 9 deep. There will be no place to hide Kyrie on defense if he's running on a gimpy knee.
As a Clevelander it pains me to say Warriors in 7.
However, after watching some of the Warriors games, they have been nowhere near as physical as Cleveland's with the Celtics/Bulls/Hawks.

Everyone will pick the Warriors, but the Cavaliers will win. No one on the Warriors can guard Lebron.
The Cavs have length. Tristian Thompson is rebounding like a beast and I don't forsee many second chance opportunities and wide open shots -something Houston continually gave Golden State. If Harden would have just shot the ball in Game 2, the series is likely still going.
I think the key will be Kyrie Irving. He has the ability to force Curry to play defense and work on both ends.
Cavaliers in 6.

those guys didn't work too well when LeBron scored 42 in the only matchup he played in this season.
dumb post...you are saying a direct matchup can offer no evidence one way or the other because it occurred in the regular season...did Golden State, the team that won 67 games didn't try when the best player in the country came to town?
Some evidence, sure, but ask any player in the NBA. They will say when you get to the playoffs, it's completely different. Mindsets and desire to win are different than they were in the regular season.
I have heard from PLENTY of OSU fans who said he grew up rooting for UNC. He cheers for OSU because he is from Ohio and likes to please the fans there.
He never once said he was going to Ohio State back then. If anything I bet he would have went to Akron to play with Dru Joyce and Romeo Travis. He only says it now because it sounds good to Cleveland fans who mostly root for Ohio State.
The guy went to an Indians/Yankees playoff game in a Yankees hat, plus he's a Cowboys fan.
And he always went to Ohio State games because they were outfitted with LBJ gear.
We really arguing over Lebron's collegiate allegiance?
But annoying Ohio State fans like to point out how great their team would have been because LeBron was going to go there. Which is complete bullshit, he just said it after the fact to play up to his hometown fans.
Oooohhh, ok. Could you imagine how good that Akron team would have been, though?
Akron? You think the number one recruit in the country would have gone to...Akron? Played for the Zips? Quit drinking and go to bed. I don't care that you posted this at 9:25 AM.
As a side note, it's fun to go back and look at the top-100 for LeBron's senior year, 2003. Dion Harris was the lone guy UM got that year, Kris Humphries was committed to Duke (!) until he switched at the last minute to Minnesota, Kendrick Perkins was the #9 recruit, and Chris Paul was #52. http://espn.go.com/recruiting/s/020703top100.html
And how much he loved his high school teammates.
He spent his entire high school career playing home games at Akron's gym because it was the only place big enough to fit the crowds.
This is exactly my point. The guy is a bandwagon OSU fan, which many of their fans are. If they didn't have good football or basketball programs, he would not give two fucks about them.
Now cue the 'I didn't even know the nba still existed' crowd
In SoCal they're still patting themselves on the back for discovering LA has a 2nd nba team once the Lakers missed the playoffs. Then jumping ship in droves when the Clips choked away that huge 4th period lead vs Houston.
And in a few years, when the Warriors move back into The City and drop the GS to once again become SF, then the SoCal crowd can truly hate.....Dubs in 6!!!!!!!!!
FWIW-I keep reminding myself that Red Sox fans felt the same way I do back in 2004 before they finally broke through.
on watching grown men play a kids game WHO DONT EVEN PLAY HARD?!?!?! NBA is a joke, so is anyone who buys into that shit.
Interesting viewpoint. I watch a lot of basketball- be it high school, college, or NBA- mostly just because I am a huge fan of the game and I have never once thought that the pros don't play hard. Sure, the regular season may be watered down a bit (much like many other sports) but I think the NBA playoffs is one of the most compelling events in all of our sports. And I have certainly never thought it was "shit." The talent level at which the game is played is unfathomable at times. Watching how both of these teams are currently playing is nothing short of great, in my opinion.
I don't pay attention to the Nba during the regular season at all, except to see how the Pacers are doing. I do love the playoffs though and that San Antonio La Clippers game 7 this year was one of the best basketball games I have seen in years. The playoffs is still compelling. It's a lot like baseball or hockey, I really can't watch or make it through a baseball or hockey game during the regular season, but come playoff time, both sports become very compelling. The only sports I care about the regular season are college football and EPl soccer. I'll catch the red zone channell for the NFl, but I really don't care about the NFl until the playoffs either.
Dropped it last year. Thank god.

There appear to be some very sensitive Clevelanders on this board downvoting anyone who says Warriors will win.
I made a reference to Bone Thugs in Harmony and he didn't even know they represent Cleveland. On second thought Bone might've been popular the year he was born.
Looks like the posters predicting a Cavs win are not fairing all that well, either.
