OT: Where to Buy High Quality Michigan Photos?

Submitted by MGoJeff on

I am outfitting my new M-centric man cave and am looking for a place to buy/download high-quality Michigan photos that I can frame.  Looking for some landscape-oriented 8x10 photos and a large-format (ideally 70" wide") panoramic stadium shot. Any ideas? Ideally it would be an MGoSponsor, of course. Didn't find much online and I live in Columbus, so I can't just walk over to Moe, unfortunately. There was a thread a long time ago about this, but all the links are dead.

Thanks!

You could always go organic on this one and put out a call to the MGoBlogosphere to send you their best shots.

This option would be a) miles cheaper, b) not sure what you might get but the potential for awesome is very real and c) super cool.

Make a posting asking for the same for your mancave (awesome stadium shots, art related...whatever). There are two truths around here: a) the expertise of the board is always greater than you imagined and b) never talk about the points.

Definitely MGoBlue Photo Store. I got myself a picture of Hunwick's last step off the ice at Yost there.

Does anyone know of a store that sells autographed photos of Michigan players?  I have a pretty solid collection of signed 8 x 10s going (I have about 60) that I plan to display in my future mancave.  I am always looking to add to it.

Ideally, the store that I have in mind would carry harder-to-find autographs -- I know that I can find an overpriced Desmond Howard autograph at the MDens of the world, but that's not what I'm looking for.  It seems like there should be such a store in the Ann Arbor area somewhere, but I'm not aware of any.  Is anybody else?

And yes, I am aware that eBay exists.

Ann Arbor Magic and Sports Memorabilia shop. Just opened last fall on Liberty in the same building as Afternoon Delight, downstairs behind Antelope Antiques.

I'm not sure what he's got in the way of harder-to-find autographs, but it is by FAR the largest private collection of Michigan memorabilia. He has a pile of Bo autographs, almost every program back through the 1920s, pennants galore, framed posters and pics, it's UM paradise. Mostly football stuff (early 2000s and back) but he has hockey/basketball/other UM sports and general Detroit sports stuff.

I don't contribute on here much, mostly lurk 'n read, but I've wanted to post about this for a while. He's usually open Tues-Sat noon-6ish, some Sundays, any UM fan in town this fall for a game needs to stop by.

The M Den has great photographs, but some of them are a rip-off and then if you want to buy it with a frame, prepare to spend around $200, which again is a rip-off.

Also, please don't call it a mancave; that's lame. I apologize if that offends you or anyone, but it's a freaking basement.

50s theme? Ugh, not my thing. When I get my basement done, I'm doing a movie them also, but I will just keep it simple in getting the official movie posters of my favorites. It's going to be tough to decide which posters to get.
