OT: What should happen to Grayson Allen?

Submitted by Chicken22 on

In Duke's game gainst Florida State, Grayson Allen tripped Xavier Rathan-Mayes, and it looked like it was purposeful. This is the second time Allen has tripped a player this season.

When a player for Oregon State tripped a referee he recieved a four-game suspension. When Diamond Stone tackled a player, Maryland gave him a one game suspension.

But the ACC isn't giving Allen a suspension, and it doesn't seem like Duke is going to give him one either. Should he have gotten a suspension, or is it just the ACC not wanting to give him a suspension because he playes at Duke?

But if you look at your examples, he didn't rise to either of those levels.  Maybe have him come of the bench?  He deserved a T but that has passed. 24 hour sports news makes mountains out of nothing. You can't really exicute him just because Christian Latner was a dick too.

No, he should get a game suspension, even if it's for an easier game. Sure, each of his transgressions aren't as bad as the ones mentioned, but he's now done the same thing twice, which shows it's a pattern/habit not just a bad decision in the heat of the moment.

Duke or not, this type of thing is pure bush league and he should have some sort of punishment.

He's a great player and it's a shame he has resorted to these kinds of actions on the court. He's another in the long list of dirty, cocky Duke players who everyone hates.

Im a UNC fan and I have nothing but respect for Duke as a program. But they make it so easy for people to hate them. There's no question he should be suspended for at least 1 game. He also leads his team in technical fouls. But I guess UNC and Lville have put the ACC through enough, so there's no room for a Duke black eye.

You say "we" as if it's a universally held thought. If you reserve the word "thug" for blacks, then maybe that's a you problem. And I'm not saying there aren't plenty of people who do the same. But because some people are racist doesn't make this incident racial.

You can't say, "I'm going to view this non-racial incident differently simply because the racist people do." You can choose to be better than that.

You do know that just because you've cleared the 100 point threshold and now CAN create threads doesnt mean you HAVE to create threads.  I know it can be confusing but trust me - you can take an hour or two break from thread creation and you won't lose your thread creation rights.

I haven't watched a Duke game, don't have a clue who this guy is, and know that I'm stereotyping. He's guilty by name alone. I have yet to meet someone with the name Grayson who's not a prick. (for the record, most of them are 8yr olds) And of COURSE, he plays for Duke.

You can't judge a person by their name like that. He didn't pick it.

His parents, however, are undoubtedly huge pieces of shit. This is all their fault for sucking so hard. Admittedly, parents giving their kids stupid fucking names is one of my biggest pet peeves. Each of my boys is one of like 2-3 in their classes with normal names. Every other kid's first name is a last name or a combination of two names or a semi-normal name spelled super fucking weird. It bothers me way more than it should.

punk white kid pulling that stuff on the court where he knows he's safe. He'd never do that outside the arena. He should probably get 1-2 games off for that one
