Russian Roulette didn't even make the list? Well fuck me in the beard.
OT: What is the Most Dangerous Sport?
what she said?
Love. Love is the most dangerous sport.
It is a battlefield, after all.
only love can break your heart
But only love can mend it again.
How about a sledge hammer?
How about watching dancing with the stars.
I wish I understood the "scoring" system.
yet cheerleading is more dangerous?
An Eastern Oregon football player, Dylan Steigers, just died from a spring game injury.
real sports, which i normally hate, a few years ago profiled how dangerous cheerleading is. it was actually a great piece.
Gee, thanks for the term paper. Who knew a sport with blades and sticks could be so dangerous???
If you think about it, cheerleading has much of the same risks as gymnastics (high velocity flips far above the ground) without any of the safety equipment. Cheerleaders dont perform on mats and generally aren't trained to fall in a way that reduces the risk of injury.
That must be why they are always on their backs.
Sami Salo votes hockey, one million times, due to his potentially (?) ruptured testicle and all...
Three words you don't want to have to hear... especially the "reportedy" part.
The most dangerous sport is Mutant League Football!
Any sport that can cause a "bulging dick" seems a little too dangerous for me. Just ask Tiger Woods (Day-to-day; shlong).
EDIT: Video evidence
I've had 'BD' before, it's not too serious; it can be uncomfortable for sure but simple adjustments usually take care of that.
Like the position of her mouth?
Participating in a pitching contest at a used car lot owned by Ashley Schaeffer can put an eye out.
who once spit out his smile in a beautiful slobbery mess of enamel shards, blood and saliva...
Ima go with the hockey.
Thunderdome. Maybe the Running Man.
Was anyone else bothered by the fatal flaw in logic in the OP?
Hockey (primarily a men's sport) is dangerous. Boxing (men's sport) is dangerous. Baseball and football (men's sport's) are dangerous. But, the MOST dangerous is cheerleading accounting "for a whopping 65 percent of high school and 71 percent of college, catastrophic sports injuries among females from 1982-2008."
We are comparing a single female dominated sport to male-dominated sports, and we still don't know what the most dangerous sport is, according to the cited study, for males. Did the study not include those data?
you can't find your pickle.
would completely agree with this statement.
They are the most dangerous game.
Woah...What happened to Big Redacted?
to a derogatory term for Sparty; the same term which has landed others in trouble in the past. I dare not speak its name... but sufficed to say that it rhymes with "Shmartina."
I can't say any more... ask Wolverine318
I guess I don't know the back story for that banned word.
How can I avoid downvotes?
Don't be redundant. Don't use stupid nicknames like O$U. Spell things correctly. Don't post useless replies like "I agree" and whatnot.
Well, I could understand a good negbang, but -100,000?
he said a naughty word.
the mgogods were very angry.
I'm on page four of the top of the list for points. Geaux Blue, I'm in your wheelhouse.
The correlation between points and value of contribution is basically nil.
<------- See, for example, this guy...
For the first time in history, that is also a major burn.
Second time in history for a Major Burns.
will be destroyed.
Woah, what the hell happened to Big Redacted? From the looks of it, it appears he may have used the Forbidden Nickname for MSU. Sheesh, talk about playing with fire!
Surprisingly basketball causes the most career ending injuries of the major sports, but I think it's pick your poison. You can get messed up in hockey, but generally it's easier to avoid injury in a hockey game than an NFL game due to line changes and rules. There are, however, 82 games in the NHL plus best of seven playoffs as opposed to 16 games and one and done. If you want to have more recovery time with better face protection than the NFL is safer. If you want more grinding pain and less career ending pain with no mercy for your teeth, than the NHL is your game. Personally, I'd get destroyed in either. I guess the question is would you rather have Demarcus Ware rip you in half or Chris Pronger mash your face in the boards. FWIW, I played basketball in high school...
What about motorcycle racing?
I heard that it is skiing, which I find amusing considering that I have a beef with a skier in the family who dismisses football as just a bunch of guys hitting each other.
How about sky-diving?
But generally the injuries are more likely to be fatal.
I don't know all of the stats but I guess just by appearances MMA would seem to be the most dangerous. I watched something on MTV the other day called Parkour. I had never heard of it before but it is basically jumping over great distances (sometimes at great heights), ie; rooftop to rooftop. Not sure if either of these are, by definition, considered sports but both seem very dangerous.
I haven't seen that episode, that's frickin hilarious.
Does mountain climbing count?
Much lower statistically than cheerleading.
The obvious is always on TV
Cheerleading with it's throws and tumbling is statistically the most dangerous. If I had a daughter that was going to be a "flier" (the female cheerleader thrown in the air), I would pull her from the team.
Ummm... I was with you until you called cheerleading a sport.
At that point you lost me.
