OT - What have you accomplished today

Submitted by Blazefire on

What have you done today to feel proud of?

Me? I got all of my work done before I have to leave for my doctor's appt, and then I took a truly epic dump.

I'm not sure which I'm more proud of.

I've accomplished yelling at my work computer trying to order from mgoblueshop.com.

[edit] Yelling has ended, the order went through...I think.

Opened a new office in Lansing today!

Makes my skin crawl to be that close to the "enemy"... but what is the quote, "Keep your friends close, your enemies closer?"

Also negotiated a contract to double the size of our current office (Owosso) with landlord.

Hired a new employee.

Took semi-epic dump.

On third pot of coffee.

Lunchtime!

ps 24.5 hours until spring game!!! Go Blue

for: Posting pointless comments on Mgoblog.

Just made the first 2 Toasted Tomato sandwiches of the season, on Cheddar cheese bread, with a little mayo and ground pepper. A true classic.

Ate three bagels and drank a 32oz Gatorade. Hangovers are awesome when you have nothing else to do all day... I'm about to get my snuggie.

I met with research advisor. I held office hourss. In a couple minutes I am going to run up to IT and get them to finally clean up the junk that is on our data server and give me access to the calculation server so I can run some DFT calculations without getting disk space errors. I also emailed our collaborator to set up a meeting next week. I am going to skip out early today because I am completely exhausted. I have stayed late in my lab from 7 am to midnight everyday this week and damn it I need a break.

I've spent the morning trying to get my order processed on mgoblueshop.com

They extended the tax day deal till Monday.

this has been a 24 hour process (and counting)

sometimes i hate the internet... other times it's great.

Once i process my order I'll be happy. I've also had a very productive day at work, but we're discussing the important things here. 16 items - $100.36 total, costs $55.35

I finally got to the "submit order" page, where i clicked submit and was told that my order couldnt be processed. Called the phone number on the page, it was busy. Called again, got through, and was hung up on.

F - this, I'm just going to Underground/Moes/M-Den when I'm in Ann Arbor tonight/tomorrow/sunday.

So I guess I've successfully pissed myself off today.

I woke up and moved from my bed to my leather recliner. In between i made a stop at the fridge to have a piece of cheesecake for breakfast. While doing this, had my laptop in hand with mgoblog open just waiting for new threads. Livin the dream.

today I've submitted a batch of photos to the newspaper. But I did that around 1:00 in the morning and went to bed an hour later, so whether or not I accomplished that "today" depends on how you want to define it. If you're asking what I've accomplished after waking up, then...absolutely nothing.

my fellow coworker by telling him that the Eyjafjallajokull volcano will set off the much larger Katla volcano like it did the last three times and that is what caused massive famines and cold winters in the past and that Goldman Sachs is getting sued by the SEC which is the start of the market tanking again and this all coincides with 2012 which is the TEOTWAWKI and this is all caused by the angry Michigan-hating god who really is

hmmmm. who could it be? Could it be....

I ordered a whole bunch of supplies from the Home Brew Store, went for an urban hike, watched a hot lady singing opera in our atrium at work, took a decent dump (I'll have to up the hummus consumption to remedy that) and surfed MGoBlog, MVictors, Spawn of MZone and EDSBS.

...why I didn't get my electronically deposited refund check from the IRS. The f**king morons at the IRS didn't correctly input my full account number. They told me I didn't give them the right number which is bull because I have the hard copy of what I mailed and it clearly has the right number. Now I have to wait another month for my refund because they now have to mail it.

I’ve been at the gun range all week and did my paperwork yesterday, I work in a secure space with a bolted door, so after working out and taking a dump (only 2 Curics), I’ve been on this site all day watching End of Days on AMC. Tough life I know but don’t worry my wife will sense my happiness and punish me somehow. Have a good weekend everyone.

Wrote two proclamations, got into a very interesting discussion about the Russian sex trade industry in Prague, sorted out a lost order for some posters, spray painted 12 shovels with gold paint that will inspire moronic citizens to wonder why their tax dollars are being used on solid gold shovels, okayed a banner design for a May 12 event, and submitted an order for set-up by 11 a.m. on Tuesday when I'm hosting a high school girl's basketball team that won a state title and a men's college basketball team that won their conference title at the same time. In just a minute, I'm going to be silently praying that bringing in a group of teenage girls and a bunch of 20 year old guys to the same lunch isn't a mistake.

It's fun when you run into someone with whom you have something obscure in common. I must say, however, that I would never in a zillion years have thought it would be someone who had spray-painted a bunch of shovels with gold paint. Mine were for a ground-breaking of a new office we were building, and the CEO decided last-minute that he wanted every board member in attendance to have one.

So what do you all consider an epic dump??!

Is it more about quantity over quality? or quality over quantity?

In other terms....

Do you prefer the one big long perfectly shaped log?

or

Many tinier, oblong feces that result in a huge amount.

I waxed the roof of my car. (painted two months ago)

I mowed the backyard lawn.

I watered the front lawn (reseeded).

I took a dump.

Made plans to cook French Toast for dinner for my wife and me.

Today's the day off; I work weekends, typically.

It was just a plasma donation center, I brought a copy of my lease, drivers license, and ssn but apparently it wasn't good enough. Imagine DMV of addicts and thats pretty much what a plasma donation center is. Great for poor college kids though.
