OT - What are you doing tonight?
So, what is everyone up to tonight? Any fun plans? If you are drinking something, what are you drinking?
I have been studying this evening, now I'm taking a break to watch the Tigers and the NBC Wrestlemania special (yeah, I enjoy the art of pro wrestling, don't judge me). I think after I'm done tonight, I will open up a bottle of Stone W00tstout.
Most importantly the first football game is 28 days away!!!! I can't wait!

Have to start them before they are toddlers (like at 6 months) or it's a nightmare. Ours has slept through the night since he was about 7 or 8 months. It's all about the bed time.

Will not sleep through the night!!! Wales up at least 3 maybe 4 times... It sucks
August 3rd, 2013 at 10:41 PM ^
I recommend picking up a copy of the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child". It was life changing (for him and us).
August 3rd, 2013 at 10:46 PM ^
I was hoping you would post a comment! Plan on buying tonight

Glad to help. That's a book I am glad to give a recommendation about any time, anywhere. Seriously life changing. Went from (at 6 months) waking up several times a night with (maybe) a fifteen minute nap during the day (despite our best efforts at two hour long naps) to sleeping all the way through the night with two one hour plus naps during the day WITHIN TWO DAYS. It really works. You just have to commit to doing exactly what the book says to do (which really isn't that hard to do).
Does the book help with month olds?!?!
Unfortunately, no method will. From everything I've ever read, there isn't much you can do until about six months. It has to do with sleep patterns being feeding driven up until that point.
But at 2.5 years. Do this at 6 months. You will be much happier.

Went to Lolla yesterday with my girlfriend, going out in Chicago tonight! Question: is mgoblog.com working for anyone? I can access the website through the forums, but if I go to www.mgoblog.com it goes to a white page that says "welcome to nginx"
August 3rd, 2013 at 11:54 PM ^
NGINX is our new commit

Decided to watch Top Gun on Netflix. Can't go wrong with a Bruckheimer movie blasting on tv.
August 3rd, 2013 at 10:19 PM ^
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Top Gun a Tony Scott film? (RIP)
August 3rd, 2013 at 10:52 PM ^
ack, you are right. Bruckheimer just produced and financed the film.
That they do actually qualify as a distinct entity in film genre/styles, so you're both right.

Norris hot springs, sipping a Salmon Fly Honey Rye. After a great day at Wade Lake. Montana summer is tough to beat. All eight weeks of it.

I'm at work mopping up a bunch of water because some dolt doesn't know how to operate a water treatment plant.

On call all weekend for my local Level 1 Trauma center = really needing to drink and not being allowed to. Kinda sucks.
August 3rd, 2013 at 10:56 PM ^
Who says you're not allowed to?
August 3rd, 2013 at 11:06 PM ^
citizens of South Carolina?
August 3rd, 2013 at 10:57 PM ^
Well I'm getting bitch-slapped by MGoCommunity for asking a stupid question. To lift my spirits I started watching Curb Your Enthusiasm over again from the start. It's working.
August 3rd, 2013 at 11:03 PM ^
Look at it this way, with the old point system it would be way worse.

A 2:1 DV ratio is not that bad for a thread.

It's mah burfday!!! Some Big Bob's pizza and Founder's Red's Rye with a bunch of relatives was exactly what I needed. Perfect evening.
August 3rd, 2013 at 11:33 PM ^
And what does the night have in store? A little birthday you-know-what? High five.
August 3rd, 2013 at 11:35 PM ^
Not positive what you're referring to, but probably not. Sitting home alone and sleepy at the moment, probably going to bed pretty quick here...
August 3rd, 2013 at 11:53 PM ^
I was referring to the sweet agony of coitus.
August 4th, 2013 at 12:06 AM ^
Then I guessed right and my comment stands. Unless something goes horribly wrong for me tonight, that will not be happening. Also, now that it's 12:05, my birthday has passed.

Shared a four pack of Heady Topper with friends. Was a good night.
August 3rd, 2013 at 11:39 PM ^
How does one share a 4-pack?
August 3rd, 2013 at 11:58 PM ^
Well it depends on how many friends you have. Three friends would be good as you could evenly distribute the beers among the group. If you had two friends, you could give two to the biggest one, or you could just use cups and eyeball three equal portions. That would probably be fairer. Any more than three, and there probably wouldn't be a point to sharing the beers as no single person would get enough to have any real effect.
August 4th, 2013 at 12:00 AM ^
Says a man who's never had Heady Topper. Cheers.
August 3rd, 2013 at 11:58 PM ^
Next pour it into a glass. Watch people's minds get blown after they get that first taste. Repeat until it's all gone.

Celebrating my birthday with friends and a half barrel of Fat Tire in the kegerator. Bonfire by the water and healthy portions of the world's best chocolate cake. This gets chalked up in the 'W' column.

I like the cut of your jib
I took my six year-old daughter to a dinner theater and we watched Footloose with Kevin Bacon and John Lithgow. My wife thought our daughter would hate the movie and be bored, but she loved it. Woo!
Is there any other Footloose worth watching?
