OT: West Virginia rumors running rampant
Lots of talk on Twitter about some huge news about to break out of WVU. Blog post from this morning cites the usual disarray in the coaching staff (Holgorsen/Stewart/Casteel, etc). But the people on twitter saying they know and will go public with confirmation suggest its better.
Some choice quotes:
RT @SmokingMusket: WVU football: shit, meet fan.
RT @SmokingMusket: The next week will define WVU football for the next five years.
RT @SmartFootball: Just got a taste of the WVU and I hate to say it but my reaction is that it's really goddamn hilarious (but to WVU fans, I'm really sorry)
RT @romulus9 about the WVU news that's buzzing all over Twitter and elsewhere... if it's what I'm hearing, it's not bad. It's disastrous.
Anyone hearing anything?
Rich Rod to WV.
It's part of the AD's evil plot to increase revenue through selling beer at the stadium. Boom.
Maybe theyre selling beer at games in hopes that the fans will be too drunk to notice that they rehired Richrod.

I know you're kidding, but this would fit the bill of the aforementioned tweets.
I wonder if this is that story that was supposed to be a 10 compared to OSU being a 6
But wasn't that supposed to involve a "top 12" program? WVU isn't that good.
that is true
Plus, I thought the school is in the midwest, with the story breaking sometime in August.
I think it is supposed to be Oregon.
I wonder if this is Yahoo's latest investigative piece...
Supposed to be about what coach has power over what this season. Mini WVU civil war
well that was lame
I should contribute instead of just asking, I guess. More credible rumors (though they're all just that for now) seem to be Bill Stewart blowing the whistle on Holgorsen for some violation out of jealousy, Holgorsen in more trouble for drunk antics and Stewart giving WVU an ultimatum of some sort.
But that last one seems like BS since he's already out at the end of the year. In short, nobody willing to say anything knows anything. LOL interwebz.
Oh so OT. Just because Rodriguez was our coach does not mean we are inextricably linked to WVU now.
That said, as long as it's not some hairbrained crap that Rod was involved with while he was there, I don't give a damn. It's the Big East. Who does?
Yep, my bad. Frequent reader, rare poster. I didn't even think of it.
I changed it after his comment.
Must have just assumed.
It's college football. It's June. The topic is fine. If it was Oregon, or Miami (YTM), it'd be equally as valid. Don't worry about it. Post more.
If Rich Rod ends up back at WVU then that definitely means some stars are realigning
None of this with Holgorsen is that suprising. Even when he was at OSU for a year, he lived in a motel and there lots of rampant speculation on him, mainly gambling, booze, and living with college co-ed. So naturally, Holgorsen ends up in West F'in Virginia. Never ending drama in Morganstown haha.
What guy doesn't want to drink, gamble, and have sex with 21 year old gals? How is "not being a woman" suddenly an indictment for a football coach?
D1 coach of anything...bad idea. Just ask Bruce Pearl. Even though it's not what got him the boot, it was something that Tennessee didn't take kindly.
Larry Eustachy.

Though really, what's the point of working your ass off to get to that point if you can't even enjoy it? Isn't that the whole point of getting rich, to continue to sleep with 21 year olds?
If he'd been photographed at some swanky nightclub with a couple of models instead of making out with fatties with a PBR pressed to his face he'd probably have kept his job.
Though when you're living in Ames, Iowa I suppose the odds are stacked against you...
Super Models with connection to Ames, but then I realized, what a hopeless endeavor that would be....
RICH ROD TO WVU! 1...2....3....let it begin!
Old and busted: Things you would believe.
New hotness: Bill Stewart's wife planted anti-Holgorsen stories with a local beat reporter.
I debated and deliberated for the last hour about whether or not I should post the following, given my Rumor Mill post from earlier today.
I’ve been DM’ing people on Twitter the latest info about what’s going on regarding the WVU Coaching Staff. And, after realizing that bloggers have freedoms that traditional writers do not have, I have decided to go ahead and post the following. I must warn you, this is not going to be pretty by any stretch of the imagination. So, grab a beer and hang on.
Anyone remember last week’s article that was put in the Huntington Herald-Dispatch by none other than Cheap Suit Chucky? Well, read our version of it, then come back here. [hailwv]
Turns out all of that stuff was leaked by none other than Karen Stewart, Bill’s wife.
Anyone remember the infamous “Karen in Morgantown” that called in to Statewide Sportsline back in December of 2010 and just bawled on the air over Bill Stewart’s days as WVU Football Head Coach being numbers? This makes sense.
Earlier this evening, I had heard it was Bill himself who leaked info to Landon. However, I am now hearing that it was Mrs. Stewart.
I’ve also been hearing from several folks that Mike Casazza, WVU sports beat writer at the Charleston Daily-Mail, will be posting an article in regards to what I’ve been discussing for the last hour with people.
There are also some rumblings that Jeff Casteel wants out. I don’t believe that one for a minute. Oliver Luck had to have taken care of Jeff Casteel during this transition… WVU is lucky to have the #1 underrated defensive genius in the country.
I decided that it was time to pull the trigger and release it to the world before anyone else does.
Earlier today, I called for Head Coach Bill Stewart to be fired. I still stand by that, more than ever. Oliver Luck has a lot of damage control to do, in my opinion.
Just like I’ve been reiterating, I still fully and completely back both Oliver Luck and Dana Holgorsen 100%.
Am I afraid of the backlash? No. Am I prepared for the backlash? Yes. I am not afraid of being wrong. It has happened before.
Goodnight, folks. I’m sure we’ll have more in the morning. The best thing for Mountaineer Nation to do right now is get some sleep, and lots of it.
If half of what i've read about Holgerson is true, he's not going to do well as a high profile head coach. He's a little too, um, rough around the edges...
Larry Eustachy agrees!
Actually, this doesn't seem so bad for the program. Bad for a couple moron coaches and a wife, but no car deals, so that's good.
I had no idea WV fans hated Marshall so much. Seems excessive to me.
As far as Jeff Casteel wanting out of WVU, I commented two weeks ago in the thread on RR's comments at Glenville that Casteel probably wouldn't be there next year. Casteel does not like Holgorsen at all.
There's some irony for you...
Should I have BILGed or BKFinest it?
Edit: my sarcasm meter is broke and I can't tell if you are being snarky or not.
Is he on the Hot Seat? The OSU shit isn't over yet, we're just waiting on confermed Drugs/Sex right?
BILG did draw the ire of some because the SI article was not nearly as advertised. I am willing to wait and see the implosion in Columbus. I hope BILG isn't one of those anonymous interweb attention whores.
But not in this case. I was touching on what I went into more detail about below that months after supposedly turning down Rich/Michigan/Bill Martin/The Space Aliens AGAIN, he might be looking for work, and DC at Michigan (under Rich) might not look so bad anymore.
Perhaps even more ironic that he (Casteel) turned down RR again after the 2010 edition of "The Game" declining to come to Michigan for at least the second, and more than likely the third time.

congratulations on being the one millionth person to confuse coincidence and irony.
Congratulations to you, sir, for being the 500,000th MGoBlogger to point that fact out. How ironic is that...?
incongruity between what is expected to be and what actually is, or a situation or result showing such incongruity
Which, in this case, where he expected to have a job, and turned down one some might consider better, and the present situation would most likely result in him not having ANY job, pretty much describes the situation. Though maybe I should have called it "ironic".
hope you didn't tear any muscles stretching for that one
Their HC in waiting (a concept ~4-5 years past it's prime) parties like a rockstar, gets banned from the bar at the hotel he's staying at, and the current HC leaks the info to the media and bamn, they want the current HC fired for leaking information, not the HC in waiting that partied like a rockstar.
Wow.
Your typical college football fanbase in that part of the country. WVa is right next to Ohio, I've heard.
Casteel wants out now...
Edit: Yes I realize this is redundant a thousand times over, but reading that was just another head smashing against the keyboard moment of the RR era.
Were the WVU players found to be stretching too much also?! I guess that's a reason to start selling beer at games.
