OT: Weight loss blog

Submitted by QuarterbackU on
Some of you asked a few weeks ago about my weight loss, and how I accomplished my goals in that area...I just started a blog to share my experiences with people with problems and goals similar to what I had... http://3XLandback.blogspot.com/ I'll be posting the story of how bad eating habits and lack of exercise sent me into obesity and Type 2 Diabetes, and how I've made it back, losing 111 lbs. now in the last two years! I'm still a few pounds from my goal weight, so I want to stay motivated by blogging and sharing my experience, tips, encouragement for people trying to lose weight...I'll give advice on exercise, diet and much more, all from someone who's been there. I lost all the weight through hard work and understanding how foods affect my body for better or for worse, no fad dieting or special programs...all hard work and inspiration! I'll also answer any questions posted on the blog that anyone might have about anything weight loss related... Check it out! http://3XLandback.blogspot.com/

Taking a page out of Thomas Edison's book I see; Edison used to declare his next invention before even starting on it. By doing this, he forced himself to work extra hard in order to avoid public embarrassment, thus giving himself motivation. This is something that other people should really consider when it comes to fitness, even if it is just outlining your goals to family and friends.

actually lost 120 pounds in around 1-2 years. It's crazy to see how different he looks. He was a decent athlete even at abouve 300+ for his weight, but he's playing ice hockey and IM floor hockey now, which he has never done in his life. It's pretty cool to see happen right in front of you.

Thank you for posting this. I have struggled with my weight for years and I am to the point of just giving up. Ironically, the only time I was able to make any significant progress with my weight was when I was an undergrad. I got to the point where I was able to run four miles a day and I dropped over 50 pounds. I am on my feet most of the day for my job and I don't know if my feet or knees will be able to take running anymore. I have gained it all back and more. I should have my masters degree finished before the end of this year and I want to be able to drop some weight before I start looking for a new job. I will check this out. Again thank you for posting this.

Don't give up!! I completely understand your frustration...I hovered around the same weight, and I know it's daunting...trust me, having 143 pounds to lose seems insurmountable, but I've lost 111 now and I'm going to make it, you can too! Read the blog, I think it can help you, and if you have specific questions, comment on my posts there, and I WILL answer your questions as well as I can... See if you can find an elliptical, it's very low/zero impact, much better for your knees than running... It's possible, never give up on it!
