OT - Weekly Friday Drinking Thread 8/27
Bourbon & Ginger.
Just poured the last drink out of a bottle of Maker's that I had since before the boycott (http://mgoblog.com/content/need-whiskey-boycott). Feels nice to rid that brand from behind the bar.
Cheers!

When I run out of Oberon and Two Hearted, I scrummage for cookout leftovers. Tonight's score: Miller Lite and Summer Shandy. That's an upgrade from my last episode, which was warm Pabst in the corner of my garage (RIP uncle Paul).

I'm drinking a Goose Island 312 that I picked up when I was in Chicago for a Cubs game last week.

Great Lakes doesn't compare to Bell's. But then Michigan beer vs. Ohio beer, what does one expect? Michigan wins!

woodford reserve. I was on a Blanton's kick for a while, but I've found I like the smoothness of Woodford better... that it is a lot cheaper doesn't hurt either.

I've been expanding my palette a bit. A great (and refreshing) summertime adult beverage is a Campari Americano, (Campari, sweet vermouth, soda water and an orange or lemon slice or twist, depending on your preference). Campari and soda (with an orange or lemon peel garnish) is also excellent.
I'd never had Campari until I spent a lot of time in Europe. I developed a taste for it, and it's a great change-up from the usual beverage, but you've got to like bitter flavors.
