OT: Wednesday Night Wings / Drinking Thread

Submitted by DFW_Michigan_Man on
A little Wednesday night hockey on NBCSN gives us our chance to see the newest additions to the Red Wings. Washing it down on another wintry evening in North Texas, with a 2012 Bell's Expedition Stout!

Pondering tapping into my bourbon stock in anticipation of at least a half day due to Winter Storm whateverthehellyouwanna call it.

May compare Whistlepig (100% rye 100 proof) v. Thomas Handy (Rye blend, 129 proof).

I missed this last night when I was having piña coladas and mojitos at a restaurant in havana. Really I just wanted to post a comment because I'm not sure if any mgo users have ever posted from cuba before!

Have the travel regs already been relaxed, or did you take the side door? My brother went a little while ago (he lives abroad), and had a blast. Apparently Cuba has encouraged American citizens to come by not stamping the passport itself, but a slip of paper that can be removed before re-entering the US.

I was thinking how sweet it would have been to get Kesselring and phaeuf both for Weiss, Franzen (for whom they could pull another Horton), Ericsson and Kindly or Smith. that would have worked money- wise, hockey-wise and been bad-ass to boot.

Any Purim aficionados out there? Oh, right, you're already blacked out if you're doing it right. L'chaim! (Seriously, anyone who doesn't know about Purim should look it up and adopt it)

I really hope Jurco develops into a solid player, he'll probably always be overshadowed by Nyquist and Tatar, but he's def not a top two liner right now. That was probably the fifth time Dats has set him up tonight and he either missed the puck, or got it and had no idea what to do.

by Howard tonight.  He's bailed the Wings out numerous times as the Rangers have seemingly spent 2/3 of the game in Detroits end.
