OT: Weather Channel College Football Forecasts

Check this out: http://www.weather.com/outlook/events/college-football/weather/48109?ev… In addition to the forecast for the games, they provide stats on teams' performances in various weather conditions. They only have data since 2008, so its fairly insignificant but still pretty interesting. I usually stay away from the weather channel (too many ads/general aptitude failure) but I think this is a great feature, and could (maybe) prove to be a legitimate metric for answering questions related to our performance in X conditions, once there's more data.

Thanks for the link. Indeed, with more data, it could point out some weather-related trends, though it would be difficult to isolate weather out from competition we'd be playing. Our nicest weather games tend to occur in September, when as a general rule we're playing non-conference games against sometimes weaker competition. I usually don't look at the weather.com site; I prefer to tivo the weather channel and watch it a few days later.

No, I don't really tivo the Weather Channel. However, there are instances where it might not be such a bad thing to preserve some of the classic moments that occur. Every time they send an anchor to cover a hurricane, place him or her on a beach, clad in storm gear and lashed to a post to fight the wind; invariably, a little kid in a bathing suit and a beachball appears in the background, completely oblivious to everything.
