OT - Warriors vs. Thunder

Submitted by LJ on

I love me some NCAA hoops, but this is pretty spectacular.  Hard to imagine basketball being much more entertaining.

That is all.

I would just like to see someone make a shot without doing some kind of 3 goggles or dancing around or doing secret handshakes with their buddies. Ibaka just celebrated after blocking a shot like he just won the finals with it. The NBA is just hard for me to watch now. Maybe I'm just getting old. Maybe everyone should get the fuck off my lawn. I just have a hard time rooting for any of these clowns

I LOVE curry as a basketball player, ever since watching him in his Davidson days... But the whole bringing his daughter to press conferences thing is just disgusting, and everyone just adores it. You can't finish your professional business without bringing your kid?

Why?   I don't see how it matters.   At the least, it suggests that his family is important to him, which is a good thing, I'd think.

I cannot stand Curry.  I hate the way he sticks that damn mouthguard out after every shot.  I hate the way he showboats and turns up court after shooting.  I hate that Draymond Green has a different set of rules than everyone else and is allowed to CONSTANTLY set moving screens to get Curry open looks and I hate that if anyone breathes on him the officials call a flagrant two cause he's the darling child of the NBA.

Yes I'm a Cavs fan.

Nice myth but untrue this year.  Historically LeBron got to the line 2.4 times in the playoffs for every 5 shot attempts.  Which is high but the guy drives so he's taking contact.  This year it's down to .06 foul shots per 5 shots which is the lowest it's ever been.

He's getting mauled, smacked on the head and hit hard with no calls.  The NBA loves Steph Curry (he's sooooo CUTE) and his absolutely adorable children these days.

MJs 37 is up there, and so is wilts 50 a game. But I disregard wilt because he was a freak athletically in a league with average athletes. What Curry did this year with threes is like hitting 100+ home runs in a season. He had the second 50-45-90 season. It's at least top 3, I think it's top 2.

This can apply to all pro-sports except hockey. This is why I adore hockey. No one does some stupid fist pump after a good body check. Goalies don't do "save goggles" or something stupid.

You score you cheer, you win you cheer. Do your job otherwise.

And I'm not all that old. Under 40.

It's true, and it's ridiculous, but it just is what it is. No matter how much you hate it and talk shit about it, they're still going to do it. That's just what happens when everyone in the world puts you on a pedestal and is too scared to actually call them out.

Is it weird that I have watched Thunder games specifically because of an odd fascination with Steven Adams' mustache? I will never able to repeat that look, but I am jealous slightly of people who can manage it. I don't know why, it has a Snidley Whiplash / Ming The Merciless / Insert Villain Here appearance that draws you in.
