OT: Warriors get destroyed by the Trail Blazers

Submitted by Chicken22 on

The Golden State Warriors lost 137-105 to the Trail Blazers. That puts their record at 48-5. After getting destroyed like this, do you think they will break the record for best record in the regular season, set by the '96 Chicago Bulls at 72-10?

I was struck by that LeBron quote that the Warriors were the healthiest NBA team he'd ever played, such that some of their success is in continuity. The decline in average minutes for all the league stars (especially with Thibs on the outside looking in) is really changing the game. The Ws are still pretty lucky health wise but I think the record is still very much in play. Did you guys see that article about how Steph has developed crazy core strength so he pivots with his hips instead of his ankles? It didn't quite jibe with me, but it did sort of make me want to hit the gym.

Like my man Dominic torretto said it don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile...
One game is just one game.
I think they are going to break the record,

I think they will do it. They need to go 25-4 and that is way below the pace they even set for themselves. They were probably still in All-Star mode.0

The Warriors have lost 9.4% of their games so far. Losing 9.4% of their remaining 29 games puts them at 8 total losses for the year. Therefore, the Warriors will break the record. /math'd Edit: dammit, I just realized that the Warriors have lost 100% of their most recent game. Losing 100% of their remaining games will put them at 34 losses. Therefore, the Warriors will not break the record. /double math'd

Dunno. I'm pretty sure I can infer from this game that the warriors are unraveling. There's some turmoil in the locker room. Expect to see some coaches fired soon. Harbaugh probably is back in the NFL next season.

So, Golden State is averaging one loss every 10.6 games and there are 29 games left on their schedule. They are on a rough track for about 3 more losses if the approximate average rate holds.

So, possibly.

So mama gave you some computer time and this is what you post?  This is just as bad as your 19 sequential posts of this gif on the prattville thread:

I guess you didn't learn much from your trip to Bolivia as the prior MGoAlexander.

Any team can be beat on a given day. Means nothing. I will not be surprised if they win everything rest of the way. My best guess is they still have a very good shot at matching the bulls record.

might look bad, but they had a really bad 3rd quarter and it is easy to let a game get way out of hand when you know you're going to lose.

Their schedule has some challenges on it, though.  They are at the Clippers tonight (maybe we can hope for Hack-A-Jordan and Hack-A-Bogut/Iguodala), they go to Atlanta, Miami, and OKC in the next week as well, they go to San Antonio twice, and to Memphis and Dallas.

Now, that being said, they have played exceptional against top teams, and the losses are to mediocre squads.  So, they probably sweep the games I listed above and lose like at Orlando and at Utah or something.
