OT: Walking Dead 9 pm, Game of Thrones 10 pm Open Thread- Spoilers at those times.
Wouldn't it be better to DVR walking dead so that you can skip commercials?
For an open thread syncing everyone's fast forwarding is going to be challenging. Going to be hard enough with the no commercial replay of GoT at 10:05. Besides, for non-dvr WD isn't on again till after 11. And we'll have 6-8 minutes to kill after the 9 pm live GoT broadcast. Nothing works perfectly. And more people have AMC than HBO most likely.
Ahh, beat me to it!
Count me in for the TWD first, GoT second crowd.
GOT is on at 9
Encore showing is immediately following at 10pm.
A bunch of us last week decided to watch in this order for a few reasons:
A: TWD finale takes precedent
and in my opinion...
B: TWD is a more social show, the commercials allow for discussion without missing anything
C: TWD is a more widely seen show, so if you are on a computer you run the risk of seeing spoilers if you are not watching it in real time.
I agree with B and C, but I think GoT is a much better show, so I will be watching it first.
And that was my "Pro" for GoT first. Definitely a better show. But I feel there's much less harm in waiting on it for an hour.
Walking Dead is the Avengers. Great popcorn fun that you care about. Game of Thrones is the Dark Knight; more film, Oscar/Emmy fare. But sometimes hard to root for someone.
We should probably still split these up so the people who watch GoT first can have an open thread.
I guess you can feel free to start one. Or join the dark side and watch GoT after.
But you'll have to create a dual one or another at 11 pm, or only get half your audience. No one watching GoT at 9 will be spoiled by this thread.
Watching GOT first.
Aaaaand Milton gets the first "CYA!"
Awesome opening! Kill or you die or you die then you kill...
Compared to the comics.
I am refusing to scroll down on this thread so I don't see any stuff on walking dead until I watch it tonight but GoT has me wanting to get an Inuit husky so bad those things are badass
Just don't post anything on GoT until at least 1 hour after you've seen it if you're watching it first.
Oh wow what a perfectly cheesy Walking Dead line:
"In this life you either kill or you die... or you die and you kill."

Terrible lazy writting. I lost a lot of respect for this show today. 8 episodes of buildup for this crap. At least they killed Andrea!
I hope the damn governor has happen to him what the Gators had happen to them earlier today....they were the ones who got chomped!!!
Yay, Final Four, I'm sad tho that i have to wait 6 months for TWD
I like the effort by Milton. The Governor definately wasnt going to die that early in the show tho. Maybe all that testing by Milton will allow him to not eat Andrea
Andrea would be delicious to eat I bet!
the Governor might know.
he can be such a one-eyed dick
That's what Andrea said.
During that Iron Man commercial? Scared me.
Yes. I had to tell myself twice "The lights are on, you still have power, idiot"
That DOESN'T have HBO? Or does everyone pretty much have it nowadays?
I normally don't have it, but AT&T is offering 3 free months right now. What perfect timing. The offer is still valid too, so any of you that want in on the action and have U-Verse, call up AT&T right now and they can probably have it activated by the encore presentation of GoT
Here we go, right into it!
have to go to a damn dinner for easter, thank goodness for DVR's
why waste all your ammo on walkers?
The action is getting started early, me likey.
You get out of your Easter plans? :-)
Yes, but I did manage to get a few dirty looks after dinner. Priorities people, priorities.
For a bunch of people who don't fight.
Prison group fighting with their brains so far...
Straight up truth, but dark.
Splitting up the group to search the prison. One group will be gone due to walker attack.
I think the prison group will ambush the Woodbury group.
Yeah, drop the weapon dumbass.
Coldblooded, still.
Carl is a hardened veteran now. No thought, just action, that was brutal.
Hey, he said drop it...would've did the same thing.
Too often in movies and tv they let them get close enough to disarm you. If someone says drop it and you don't drop it, you are asking to get shot.
That "World War Z" sci-fi flick staring Brad Pitt looks good. Coupled that with the Tom Cruise one and it appears there are some big time epic, non-comic book sci-fi movies in store for this summer.

WWZ is based on a book though.
They just had to show that blasphemous World War Z trailer. Way to bastardize that book Brad.
So it's based on a book? Why the pessimistic outlook?
The book is about military tactics when it comes to zombies, it's a fun read and rather cheap on Amazon. The movie sounds nothing like the book except for the title. That Tom Cruise movie looks pretty interesting though.
Ah, thank you. Yeah, I was much more interested when I thought it was a more ambiguous apocalytic reason... Another zombie movie that is not that intellectually stimulating is not as exciting.
(I understand the irony of that statement in a Walking Dead thread)
I just had to read Theories of International Politics and Zombies for my world politics class. (I know best text book ever. ) It compared World War Z with other zombie fictions. Both are very good reads if you are into the zombies.
