Even with K. U.? Not that I am watching, because NW v Illini is on.
Mount St. Mary's hired a private equity CEO to be their president. You'll never guess what happened next.
Even with K. U.? Not that I am watching, because NW v Illini is on.
More tyrese and daryl this week!
To find out what to do when he tears his ACL.
Which turned out to be very helpful ;-)
MGoBlog will survive the apocalypse?
Where else would we turn to hear a bunch of whiners crying about their uniforms?
Tyrese is the man. Rick is going fucking crazy. Wonder how they'll develop the Merle/Daryl storyline
Just go away and stay away Lori.
Rick is approaching bat shit crazy and now Michonne is on to him too.
This Rick thing isn't intriguing me, it's annoying me.
Over/under on how long it takes Daryl to kill off Merle?
Went a lot faster than I thought it would.
And Daryl did get in a top 5 zombie kill ever.
Or tell the actor to stop turning his head right.
Acting is not the strong suit for this series.
Anyone do AMCStorySync?
It's a little lowest common denominator, but it's fun nonetheless.
I'll be seeing Denard on the field next year.
Just. Like. Rick.
Wife and son are watching it, never got into it myself, rather listen to 80's music, drink bourbon and post stupid things on FB.
Yeah. I'm an adult male as well
(and you read through the whole thread to find this post, rather than just stick this at the end)
She allowed herself to be sexually abused, almost raped, to save him.
It was a Talking Dead question now too.
Anyone to take her worthless ass off Daryl's hands.
Am I the only one who sees a problem with that title?
Wait what did he see on daryl's back? Whipmarks? I couldn't see on my tv.
I think the implication is that their father beat/whipped them.
Gotchya that makes more sense now.
But it's good to know the car washes will still work after the Zombie Apocalypse. Man that pickup was shiny.
WOOO holy fuck that was cool.
Considering what his character did in the graphic novels, I guess it's better that he die now before it could come to that.
How the hell did a Woodbury guy get in the tower?
Is that the moving truck the Merle commandeered from
Rick at the end of episode 3?
What a callback, dude.
...I thought this was the post-game thread.
It's not wise to piss off an already crazy Rick.
And I'm where I was at in the comic - the Governor needs to fucking die.
Yeah. He needs to get his.
Interesting that Merle is now with the group. After a day with him, I'll bet they would rather have a walker as a roommate.
That fight was awesome, wish it was for 20 minutes.
In the big helmet, looked female...? I don't remember anyone taking her out... Is he/she still on the premises??
Throw that in the pile with the other plotholes.
To be fair, it's not a plot hole unless it never again is addressed in a future episode, which I think is unlikely.
Even then, you could argue that the driver just got the hell out of there during all the chaos.
However, I think it's a fair guess that the driver was the chick at the wall that Andrea was talking to early in the episode. Not much of a leap there.
Hadn't the Governor's crew already left for the prison at that point? That's why Andrea was talking to the people at the wall, to see where they'd gone.
But yeah, my assumption was that the driver of the van just took off back through the gates after getting out of the truck. Why would she have stuck around?
I didn't really get the guy in the tower though. How did he get there, and were they just planning to ditch him?
Wouldn't exactly call it a plot hole since he/she started running back to the place he/she just busted a big gap in the fence at...
Yeah, I thought it was pretty clear when she (?) ran past Michonne who was just inside the fence. I was a little confused at how they managed to get a guy on the tower though... That's just piss poor security for a veteran crew who know an attack is imminent.
One request for the show, can we please get badass Andrea from the comics back? Please and thank you.
Axel never learned to shoot and ended up a dead human shield.
Still has a fully loaded gun though...
a water pistol.
The zombie bomb was brillant. Excited to see what comes next.
Knowing that the show is based off a comic book, though loosely and often differentiates in plot, it's so hard for me after an intense cliffhanging episode to not want to read about it and see how it all ends. However, I'm still going strong..
The show is starting to become easy to DVR and watch later. No longer appointment viewing. Sadly.
I don't understand why it has become all hipster to bash on TWD. I guess it's really popular, therefore a lot of people feel they need to say how bad it is. It's no different than it ever has been however. It was never a bastion of award-winning actors. It is what it is.
Furthermore, I think last night addressed a lot of what people like to whine about. There was a "call to common sense" in some respects: we got to see why Rick is still the leader - he admitted his problems and addressed them with Herschel. There was decent character development with Glen and Maggie. The storyline isn't being drug out - I didn't expect an attack on the prison to happen so quickly.
So, yeah, I don't get the hipster reaction to TWD. It's not Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones or even Dexter. It's a much more low-brow show than any of those. But it always has been - now it is just insanely more popular.
Brilliant call out on the hipsters.
I'm not sure I can be considered "hipster" based solely on the fact that my legs are too big to fit into skinny jeans... anyhow I just think it is too far removed from the original graphic novel. It is disappointing that they didn't keep honest to the characters and are playing to the "dramatic/ love story" aspect that makes shows popular and actually makes it low brow as you mentioned. I just wish it was kept like it should be. The baby/the Lori garbage/ the Glen and Maggie bullshit. Fuck all that. There is no time for that and it is annoying at best.
Maybe the show didn't change, you did!
I've seen some thick legs in skinny jeans. Don't abandon your uniform hipster.
Not you in particular (I really just couldn't help posting the Dude given your user name). It's more the fact that TWD is the highest rated show on cable right now and the highest rated show ON TV in the 18-45 demo and if you read any recap of the show, all you'll get is condescending laments on how awful the show is. That's where I see the hipster culture coming through. The "This used to be cool, but now it's popular" ideology.
I'm coming at it never having read the comics and now that I know you have read the comics, I can understand your view better.
It's more interesting, even, that many of the critics whine that there is not enough dramatic character development.
I'm just enjoying the ride and will save my critical opinions for other things.
Other than the baby turn, how is Lori haunting Rick and Glen and Maggie having a rough time with it all and relationship drama different from the comic?
I admit it's a lot less dark than the comic, and they might be to a point where they can't really get back to the comic storyline, and just interpet set pieces from it, but I don't see it as THAT different thematically.
that it seemed like season one had higher production values. I remember the strange dead torsos and body parts moving around more. I thought of that when they focused on the dead guy in the tower, and it seemed for a moment that he was going to reanimate before our eyes, but no, sadly. I suppose it saves some fx money if he got shot in the head, but I miss some of that. It's still my favorite show, unless Breaking Bad is, or if The Amerikans continues to build tension. (Strange how attached I can get to KBG agents.)
Well, I read this morning they spend $1.5 million on the Prison set alone. They're budget has to be bigger than it was in season 1, but maybe now they don't spend it on catchy, noticable visuals and instead on other things.
Was the cut back in budget for the production because Mad Men negotiated all the money from AMC. I'm guessing they're getting some of that back since WD is stomping Mad Men in the ratings.
but I just have to say, that Walking Dead is one DAMN GOOD show. That is all.
Guess I shoulda watched the show off my DVR BEFORE reading this thread...but like a moth drawn to flame, I couldn't resist clicking...nor continuing to read....
It'll still be fun to see badass Rick later. Glad to read he's back!
