OT w/ an M connection re: Detroit City FC

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on
I've been down to Cass Tech for a couple of the games this season for the Detroit City FC soccer team. Aside from having several of Michigan's current players and one of its former stars (Knox Cameron who previously played for the Columbus Crew) the team's leading scorer was another former M player named Kevin Taylor who had a hat trick a few games ago. I was at last week's game against Erie and Taylor didn't even suit up much less play. I couldn't go last night to the game against Zanesville but I didn't see Taylor in the scoring line. Any DCFC or local soccer guys heard if he's moved up or get signed elsewhere? By the way, whether you like soccer or not, get yourself to a DCFC game. I think there are only three home games left but its the best local sports atmosphere per person I've seen. Think Children of Yost times 10. Great fan experience and tix are only $5.

Taylor played very well, he didn't score but he assisted on at least one goal and came up with some very dangerous passes throughout. I was very impressed with his ability to play other players in on goal with his headers, and he came up with some good crosses, too. Definitely still on the team.

And cosign that last bit 100%, everybody should go out for a game, the people there are the most enthusiastic group of fans I've ever been around and it's an absolute blast.

You guys deserve an MLS franchise. It disgusts me to see the Beckham effect driving Miami next for expansion...just so they can fold 5 years thereafter.
