OT: Vote to help my students
MGoNation,
High school students involved in my district's leadership club are in the running for a $500 giveway sponsored by a local tv station, and we would greatly appreciate your help! We are in our second year of existence and focus on developing and building leadership characteristics and skills with our members. We currently have no funding, so the start-up money will be used for a potential field trip and toward an inaugural scholarship we plan on awarding yearly. Private school networks, man. We have been back and forth with them all week. Best part about this...the Perrysburg entry. They are currently building a brand new weight room/locker room facility right next to their football field. Small college type of set-up. And they felt the need to ask for $500. Not the perfect system, but I owe it to my kids to try and get the things they need to help them be successful. Thanks for all of the support.

Up by over 100, now, I voted.
The best one on there, in my opinion, is the Christ the King entries. Competing against your own school for the money seems both (a) dumb and (b) kind of crass. Surely you should be able to decide between those two things and figure out which one is more important for your school, instead of both of them losing.
