Obviously the guy has struggled in the NFL. But my opinion of him is waaaay up today with this story: Young surprises McNair's sons
Young surprised 11-year-old Trenton and 5-year-old Tyler on Wednesday by showing up at their house and taking them to their school's "Dear Dads Breakfast" at a local restaurant. ...

I'm proud to see VY turn a 180 degrees from the self-destructive path it appeared he was intent to travel for a while. I take this as a sign of his off-field maturation, and whether or not it someday translates into on-field success, I am happy for him.

Vince Young just went up about 100 points in my book. This is the kinda of thing that needs to be covered in the media. There's so much bad press on athletes, something like this needs to get mentioned.

Funny you mention Vince Young. He was in one of the last two Esquires in "What I've Learned." Obviously, it wasn't a tape recording of him, but he didn't seem like a guy who scored a 6 on the Wonderlic (which is supposed to be a rumor anyway). He seemed like a pretty good guy who had to deal with a lot growing up. The gist is that he is glad to be out of that and that he just wants to take care of those around him. I think he also mentioned that he idolized Steve McNair
