This year's FIBA World Cup training camp, which begins practicing in two days on the 28th, features the following 17 players:
Andre Drummond--Detroit Pistons
Kevin Durant--OKC Thunder
Derrick Rose--Chicago Bulls
Steph Curry--GS Warriors
James Harden--Houston Rockets
Anthony Davis--New Orleans Pelicans
Chandler Parsons--Dallas Mavericks
DeMar DeRozen--Toronto Raptors
Klay Thompson--GS Warriors
Kyrie Irving--Cleveland Cavaliers
DeMarcus Cousins--Sacramento Kings
Damian Lilliard--Portland Trailblazers
Paul George--Indiana Pacers
Gordon Hayward--Utah Jazz
Kenneth Faried--Denver Nuggets
Kyle Korver--Atlanta Hawks
Bradley Beal--Washington Wizards
(Edit) John Wall-Washington Wizards
Both Kevin Love and Blake Griffin, two of the best PFs in the NBA, have withdrawn from consideration. Five players will then be cut, bringing us down to twelve.
You've gotta like Andre Drummond's chances of making the roster.
Any snubs? Anybody you'd like to see make the team? Anybody hit on your girlfriend while out at the club and you hope his career tanks?
Couldn't disagree more. Harden is one of those glue guys that does things to make his teammates better. In fact he'd be my first choice for the team along with Durant.
Rose is actually going to step onto a court again? Stop the friggin presses.
Kawhi has a big contract coming up.
Yeah, he did. So, 6 will have to get cut
This seems about right. *With the addition of Wall to make it 18.
Your pool of cuts is likely going to come from:
- Drummond
- Parsons
- DeRozen
- Thompson
- Hayward
- Faried
- Korver
- Beal
Those were the guys all fighting to make it this far and a couple of them (Parsons and DeRozen) were late additions even on that short list.
I think they'll keep...
- Drummond
- Thompson/Hayward
if Shaun Livingston got a chance to try out. I know he's not young but what he has gone through, to become a good player again, is laudable.
